She frowned and slowly made her way to the voices, peeking around the corner.

Two men wearing masks held Ray on his knees, and another man stood in front of him. "Tell me where the missing children are hiding," the man said.

"Never," Ray replied coldly.

Hareena's sapphire eyes widened, darting from one man, to the other, then to Ray. Who were these men? She didn't recognize them and they certainly didn't look good.

The man glanced over at one of his men. "Knock him out," he said. The man instantly complied, hitting Ray with the butt of his gun.

Hareena gasped and covered her mouth with her hand, hiding back against the wall.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"There's at least two still on the premise," a man said to the leader. "I can feel them."

He nodded. "Split up. Search the grounds and the school. Set up a perimeter so no one can escape. We'll find them."

Hareena's eyes widened and she turned, running back toward the infirmary.

Cassel was on his feet by the time she got there. His face was pale and he was leaning heavily on the cot, but he wasn't collapsing, which was good. "Hareena?" he said. "What's wrong?"
