Phoenix closed her eyes, a smile curving her lips, "You think so?"

"Definitely. You already saved me," he said. He smiled and winked at her.

"I thought corny wasn't your thing," She giggled softly.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"I can't help it," he said. "I guess you bring out the corny in me."

Phoenix kissed his cheek, "That's adorable."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Leo snorted. "It's definitely spiraling out of control now."

"No, I think it's just right," Phoenix scoffed and yawned softly.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Go to sleep," he murmured. For once, he might actually get some.

"Yes, sir," Phoenix teased in a light voice, tugging the covers up to her shoulders and snuggling into his chest.

Leo reached over and turned off the lamp, then tightened his arm around her and closed his eyes. "I love you," he whispered into the darkness.

She sighed happily and kissed his shoulder, "I love you too."

Leo turned his head and rested his cheek against her chair. He was asleep within minutes.

Phoenix was out like a light as well, her body curled tightly against Leo's.

Leo didn't wake under well into the morning. When he did, it took him a moment to remember what had happened last night. The fact that Phoenix was in his arms was a huge reminder. He smiled and kissed her forehead.

Phoenix mumbled in her sleep, snuggling closer to him.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Leo blinked sleepily. "Phoenix," he murmured in her ear.

"Mmm?" Her response was only somewhat conscious. Phoenix wiggled around, pulling the sheets tighter around her shoulders.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"We have work to do," Leo murmured. "It's time to get up." He wasn't happy about it; he could lay in that bed forever with her.

"But it's cold out there," Phoenix grumbled, her brow furrowing.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Leo laughed softly. "There was a murder yesterday," he said.
