Nikolai visibly flinched. "Never preekrahsnah! Have any of them done that?" His voice was low, rumbling rage.

Aveline's eyes widened when she heard that word, and then recognition of his voice clicked in her head. "Nikolai?" she whispered.

Nikolai winked. "You got it. Now let's get you out of here eh?"

"I'm down for that," Aveline said. "You'll have to untie me first, though."

Nikolai grinned behind the ski mask. He cut her from the chair and waited for her to stand. "We're going to need to hurry, if you can that is."

"Of course I can," Aveline said. She started toward the door, her head held high.

Nikolai grabbed her arm. "Jesus girl! You can't just walk out of here! You will get shot! Stick with me!"

Aveline shot him a glare but did as he said, stepping behind him. "What's your plan?" she asked quietly.

Nikolai pulled out his gun again. "Tranq anything that moves." He grinned and peered out the door, wrapping his arm backwards around Avi's stomach, his fingers splayed against her hip. "Let's go." He whispered.

Aveline started to flinch away from his touch, but stopped herself, hopefully before he noticed. This was no time to be self-conscious. "Which way?"

"Stay close to me." His finger tips tightened on her hip bone and pulled her along the wall to the door had entered from. He pulled the another grenade like thing from his armory and threw it through the doorway, stepping back and shielding Avi's body with his own.

Aveline inhaled sharply when the grenade exploded, but other than that she didn't make a sound. She lifted her head to look up at him, a faint frown on her face. What was he doing here? How did he even know she was in trouble. God, she hoped he wasn't stalking her or something.

Keeping his arm wrapped around her, Nikolai skirted outside with his tranq gun raised. They made it out of the building and into the alley before anyone else appeared, Nikolai assumed he was an East and pulled Avi behind him. "Sorry but you're blocking our escape route." He said darkly.

Aveline peeked around him, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"'Fraid I can't let you do that." The East said, raising his hand gun.
Nikolai calculated his ability to tranq the man before he shot them. "Keep behind me, the task is to get you out of her alive, if he shoots, I'll be ok, you won't." He whispered and fired.
The East's leg folded under him. It wasn't the optimal place to hit but Nikolai didn't want to risk the East being protected under his shirt. The second his knees made contact with the ground the east leveled his gun and fired. It hit Nikolai square in the chest and he staggered back, keeping both himself and Avi upright. He shot again and this time the tranq hit the man's neck and before he could respond, he was down.
"Let's go!" Nikolai growled, grabbing Avi and pulling her with him.

Aveline couldn't help but gape at him for a moment. Who was this guy? He was like a freaking ninja. A ninja with a tranq gun.

Nikolai glanced around him then pulled her into a dark corner to face him, his hands tight on her upper arms. "Listen to me, if you keep running straight down this road there's a black racing car with tinted windows, you get in there as fast as you can got it? I'll back you up."

"You're going to be right behind me, right?" she said. Somehow, she picked up on the fact t-hat he- wasn't planning on getting in the car with her.

"Right behind you, but if I don't get in the car, that doesn't matter, you're going to leave anyway." Nikolai loosened his grip on her arms and tucked her hair behind her ear. "I need to know something."

"What?" Aveline said, disbelieving. "Are you crazy? They could kill you... they could capture you! You don't have to do this. Not for me.'
