Daemon guided her down the street gently. They passed a few people along the way back to his apartment, but none of them looked at them twice.

Felicity waited patiently for Daemon to open the door, her eyes locked on a brick somewhere near the door handle, as if if she looked away, she might drown.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Daemon hurried to unlock his door and then helped her inside, his arm still around her waist. "Alright, come here," he said. He led her toward his bedroom, taking a detour through the kitchen to grab her a water bottle from the fridge.

Felicity followed him uncertainly, she was starting to feel more put together and she wondered vaguely if she had actually agreed to come into his house. She couldn't remember if that was okay or not.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Daemon came back and guided her to his couch, where he sat her down and handled her the water.

Felicity took the water, drank then looked over at the man sitting on the couch. "I think I might have actually killed him you know. I wanted to. I have for a really long time. It's how I feel every time I think about him."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"I believe you," Daemon replied. He studied her face, trying not to think about what would have happened to her if she'd pulled the trigger. It would have ruined her life, even if the cops somehow didn't put her in jail for it. Murder, even of dangerous men like him, was still murder.

Felicity looked down at the water bottle in her hands. How odd that this man was here with her, Daemon of all people. "Thank you" she mumbled.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Daemon touched her cheek gently. "You're welcome," he said softly. Looking at her, he knew he'd do just about anything to protect her. Like hunt down that monster and kill him himself. Then Felicity would never have to worry about seeing him again, never be faced with the opportunity to kill him. It would be over. Daemon's father would clean up the mess, keep him out of jail, and everything would be fine.
If only his quarry wasn't such a dangerous man.

Felicity leaned her cheek into his hand. In the morion, the rest of her body followed and she curled tightly against him. "Would you still have brought me here if I had done it?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Of course," Daemon said. "I wouldn't blame you. I'd understand completely. But you didn't have to do it, you won't ever have to, and that's what important." He brushed his thumb over her skin. So beautiful.

"Snake will get what is coming to him. I have to believe that in order to fight the urge to hunt him."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Daemon nodded. Oh, yeah, he'd get what was coming to him. And not jail-time for all his criminal activity, and not being taken out by another gang member. Daemon was going to take him down personally for what he'd done to Felicity, and everyone else better stay out of his way. "Of course he will," he said, his voice not conveying any of the angry turmoil swirling inside of him.
