I recently finished watching Yona of the Dawn and omigosh it's now my favorite anime. If you've never heard of it, here's the summary:
The story follows the redemption of Yona, the sole princess to the kingdom of Kouka. Yona lives the carefree life of a princess in Hiryuu castle, being sheltered by her pacifist father, King Il, and protected by her bodyguard and childhood friend Son Hak. During a party being held for her sixteenth birthday, her other childhood friend and love interest Soo-won comes to pay tribute to her. Intending to tell her father that she cannot forget her love for Soo-won, she visits King Il's chambers and witnesses him being killed by someone close, who reveals that he will now properly rule Kouka. Hak intervenes and saves Yona and they escape from the castle to Hak's birthplace, the Village of Wind. Under the suggestion of Hak's grandfather Son Mundok, Yona and Hak search for an oracle named Ik-su. Ik-su tells them the legend of the first king of Kouka, Hiryuu, and the four dragons who unified the kingdom. Yona and Hak, joined by Ik-su's assistant Yun, begin a journey to find the reincarnated legendary dragons in order to survive and save the Kingdom of Kouka.
I really loved this idea of the four dragons (basically, the four dragons are: the white dragon and the one who inherits his power has the white dragon's claw in one of his/her hands, the green dragon and the one who inherits his power has the green dragon's jump - which at times makes it seem like he/she are flying -, the blue dragon and whoever inherits his power has the blue dragon's sight - s/he can see incredibly far -, and finally, the yellow dragon and whoever inherits his power has the yellow dragon's immortality [each one is impeccably strong and has ten times the strength and stamina of a normal human]) and I was thinking that it would be great, since it would let five people come together and do a large plot. We could even add a couple more people in as humans who want to join the new reincarnation of king Hiryuu. The reincarnation does not have to be a male, they can be any gender (male, female, neutral, etc.) Same with the dragons reincarnations, they do not have to be one gender. Also, as soon as the dragon reincarnates, as soon as they see King Hiryuu's reincarnation, it hurts them not be around him/her. Same with the reincarnate of Hiryuu - it hurts to not be around the dragon reincarnates. As soon as either one locks eyes with the other, they are connected by fate. The dragons must do everything Hiryuu's reincarnate says, it gives them great pleasure to help him/her, since, after all, their missions is to help Hiryuu and his reincarnates.
