Papa gently placed a woven blanket over Masumi's shoulders, moving away, holding a small candle before hi, blowing it out so that the only light was from the glowing embers-

It had been a few days since Masumi had arrived, and nothing seemingly aweful had happened. It became steadily clear that Kakumei was not as childish had he originally seemed- only when he was apparently freezing did he act less then his age.
Every morning- before the sun rose, Kakumei would wake up, quietly sliding around Masumi as to not wake him. He would start cooking a meager amount of rice or boil the barest minimum of miso which all three would share. kakumei and Papa would then go outside where they would practice some sort of martial art. Then the Kakumei would go inside to get Masumi and Papa would have disappeared somewhere. They would either go to the forest or coast to fish or gather sticks and thatch... It was peaceful- calm... Content

Masumi almost let himself fall into the routine that the household had. The rabbit had come to be attached to the two that he lived with, and it showed with the lack of smart remarks or baring of teeth directed towards them. He was solitary to a fault, though, and kept them at arms distance as he observed everything they would do within his sight.
Never going out of his way to watch what the two called practice, and not asking questions. It wasn't his business... but the curiosity laid there.
