Ronin stood silently where he was for a second before forcing out a smile and turning to go greet his step-mother. He walked down the stairs, an increasingly uneasy feeling in his stomach. How could he happily greet the woman who was making Se's life hell?

"How's my little Ronin doing?~" She cooed while pinching his cheek when he got to the bottom of the stairs. "Have you been a good boy? No drinking while driving? No unsafe sex?"

Ronin resisted rolling his eyes. "Of course," he told her sweetly. "Nothing like that."

She giggled and patted his back before hugging him. "I'm so glad you're not gay, sweetheart. That would just make this relationship so... complicated." She strutted into the kitchen. "Unlike that boy. Ugh. Obsessed with pink and bunnies." She rolled her eyes while popping a grape in her mouth. "So not masculine. What girl would like him? Or rather, what man would find that even remotely acceptable? Honestly!"

Ronin smiled sheepishly. If only she knew. He'd known he was gay since sixth grade. Only he hadn't told anyone. Not even his father. Seyong obviously knew now, though.

The middle aged man in the house looked at his son. "Where's Seyong?" He asked with a slight smile. His wife may have ignored Seyong, but he was still going to try and at least make the kid feel like he was in the same house as them.

Ronin hesitate. Se was hiding, which meant he didn't want to be found. "Out," he said.

"Oh..." His father frowned. "I didn't think Seyong had friends to hang out with."

Ronin just shrugged. "Apparently he does," he said. Except he didn't think he did, actually. It made him sad to think that.

There was a mew before the kitten padded out of Seyong's bedroom, looking around. He was hungry and he missed Ronin.

The father blinked in surprise. "I didn't know you found a cat."

"Cat?!" The mother ran out of the kitchen breathing heavily. "There's a cat in the house?!"

"Yes... A kitten. It's so cute!"

"I hate cats!"

Ronin scooped Seyong up off the floor and held him protectively in his arms, just in case his step-mother was planning on getting out the broom or something. "Uh... yeah," he said. "I found him. Yesterday."

Seyong mewed and cuddled against Ronin's chest, shaking in fear of his mother.

The middle aged woman shrieked, hiding behind her husband before she ran to the kitchen. "Get rid of it!"

The father sighed, looking at the kitchen before he looked to his son. He took a step forward, extending his hands for the kitten. "I'm sorry, son, but... your mother doesn't like cats. He'll have to go."

Of course, Ronin thought bitterly. She must hate her son so much she inherently hates cats, too. "But he has nowhere else to go," he said. "He's just a poor little kitten."

The father sighed and shook his head. "I'm sure a stray mom cat will find him and take care of him." He came closer. "Give me it, Ronin."

"No!" Ronin said, taking a step back and shielding the kitten with his body. "You can't have him!"

Seyong mewled before shifting into his human form, fully clothed, and clinging to Ronin's shirt for dear life.

The father backed away, eyes wide. He pointed at Seyong with a shaking finger. "Devil."

Stupid! Ronin thought. He wasn't sure, though. They were going to get kicked out of the house either way; now it was just ensured. "He's not a devil," he said as calmly as he could. "He's a werecat."

The mother came shrieking from the kitchen with the broom, whacking Seyong repeatedly with the handle. "BE GONE, DEMON!"

A wolfish growl ripped from Ronin's throat as he grabbed the broom handle before it could hit Seyong again. He yanked the object for his step-mother's hands and snapped it over his knee. "Enough!" he roared.

The mother squeaked and hid behind her husband.

"Ronin, calm down." The father warned with narrowed eyes.
