Cei was now out in the gardens, having been instructed to tend to the flowers. He was glad to be out in the sunshine, even if it was a bit cold. Apparently the flowers needed constant care in order to even stay alive up in the North. The boy hummed and smiled, a tin watering can in hand. He used to help his Eomma with the vegetable garden back at his village. They were known for growing the best squashes.
Cei looked up at Carter in surprise, not expecting such a reaction over flowers, but he could tell that Princess Colene really adored the roses, so he nodded, "I w-will not touch the roses," he promised softly, gripping the watering can nervously.
The boy managed a tiny, apprehensive smile back at the older slave, "You're w-welcome," he murmured, before scurrying over to the plants to water them. He appreciated the small kindness that Carter sometimes extended to him. It had been a while since anyone, especially men, had been nice to him.
After Cei was done watering all the plants, except the roses, and picking those annoying weeds, he scurried back inside. His hands were a bit cold, as was his face, and he rubbed his hands against his pants lightly.
His sleeves were pulled up to his elbows and the way he glided around the kitchen, his hands moving with the food he was preparing grace fully he was beautiful.
He shook his head and glanced at him, seeing as he was cold he pulled him over towards the warm oven "watch the turkey." He said, he didnt need him to but the oven would warm him
He nodded and went back to preparing the rest of the food including the all-Stark Thanksgiving diner, stuffing, cranberry sauce, anything you could ever want.
The boy looked over his shoulder at him, staying quiet as Carter prepared the dinner. He couldn't help but feeling useless just standing there. He'd gotten so used to working all of the time. Even when he lived in his village, he had chores to do.
He stopped his song for a moment "thank you, its a lullaby, from my village, my mother used to sing it to me before bed" he said reminiscing. Then began singing again.
