He slowly got out, grabbing the food from the car. He walked over to her door and juggled the food in his hands, before opening the door and making a sweeping bow. "Welcome to my apartment, my good lady. Mind the idiots here," he warned, frowning at the large building.
"I dunno, these people are a new brand of idiots," Jason said, sighing a bit. He ran a hand through his silver hair, before shoving his hands into his pockets and pulling out a key. "Shall we?" He asked, nodding towards the apartment, a frown on his face.
"Why thank you," he gracefully said, walking into the hallway. All of the doors were open, girls leaning against the frames, giggling hysterically. Footballs were thrown out of a room, only to have a guy run out, catch it, and throw it back, making a big show out of it. There were some guys who had been trying to get some peace and quiet in the library, their heads in textbooks and books, though the thick walls weren't big enough to stop all of the noise.
"This way," he said, nodding to the staircase, putting himself to the right side of her, almost like he was trying to shield her.
She smiled and chuckled though when people turned to look at her it was in disgust and annoyance as if asking why she was here, their eyes always annoyed her the way they said 'get out' and 'die' it made her want to rip their heads off.
The vampire felt the stares and carefully placed a light hand on her shoulder, as he guided her up the stairs. He was on floor 4, so it was a little tiring, though it was all worth it. The noise that the people on the ground floor were making had almost died down. Jason reached put the key in the lock and opened the door.
His dorm was neither too big, nor too small. On the left and right stood a small bed and in the back of the room and to the center, a small TV stood there, looking a little ancient. A red couch was a couple of feet to the back pof the TV, games scattered across the floor. Disks and CDs laid on top of everything; the beds, the couch, the TV, even the min-fridge.
Jason flicked his hand, as he walked over to the fridge, bending down to put the food away. "Make yourself comfortable, though mind the mess, my roommate has a sort of love-hate relationship with being clean."
He stood up and brushed himself off, sighing a bit as he closed the fridge's door. Apparently it had been another all nighter for his roommate; all of the food was gone, save for a bottle of old water in the back of the fridge. Jason would have to have a talk with him...
He turned around and rolled his eyes at the disks and CDs scattered everywhere. "Sorry about this, must not be what you were expecting, huh?" He asked, grimacing a little.
Jason scratched his chin and frowned a little. "That's a good question... I have no idea, to tell you the truth. Knowing him, he'll walk in at the worst time," he said, sighing and little. He looked at her and gave her a weak smile, saying, "Sorry about this, I guess this isn't what you were thinking you would be doing on a school night, huh?"
He sat down on the bed, his mind suddenly drawing a blank on what to say. He frowned and looked down at the floor, his eyes narrowed, a little irritated at himself for some reason. Jason suddenly sprang to his feet, the bed creaking with his movement. "You wanna watch a movie or something?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck.
Jason picked up cases and threw them over his shoulder, if he didn't seem to like it. For a while, it seemed like none of the movies he had were good enough, when finally, a large childish grin crossed his face. "Oh, it's been a while since I've watched this one!" He proclaimed, chuckling as he stood up. The vampire laughed out loud, as he threw the case to her. "Wanna watch it?" It was Dracula, one of Jason's favorite movie; mostly because he enjoyed how the creator had gotten so close to what vampires actually were. "It's better than the newer versions of vampires," he continued, chuckling as he did so.
"Oh, you too?" He asked, his eyebrows raised in amusement. "Guess we have more in common, than I had thought," he said, gently taking the case away from her. He popped the disk in and sat back in the couch, patting the cushion beside him. "Come, sit by me; I won't bite you, too much," he said, chuckling a little, "'Sides, you can't see from over there."
He reached across and grabbed the remote, humming tunelessly as he flicked through the previews. His brain was finally throwing away the fog from his mind, as they sat there. It was easier to think, now that there was something to talk about.
As the movie goes on, Jason commented, "I have to admit, I get a little irked at how they keep portraying Dracula as someone who goes mostly after women's blood. Trust me, it tastes no different from men's." He let out a faint, irritated sniff.
(I actually haven't watched the 1931 movie, though I really want to. Just cheating by looking at wikipedia. )
