"Marlboro," he mutters grabbing a pack from the shelf. He turns to the counter and grabs one of the plastic lighters from a sale box and slips it into his pocket.

Karane also swipes another carton and takes out a cigarette," We should stay here," she murmurs to him as she flicks a lighter to life and lights the small cylinder with a small flare of orange

He looks over to the window at the darkened lighting and rubs the back of his neck, "Most likely," He steps away uneasily and walks out from behind the counter and down one of the small aisles.

Karane watched him leave and only than did she slide down to the floor, she watches her hand shake slightly to the dim glow of the embers. Her heart was racing, those hounds were part of her experiments, the virus... It had worked and saved her life. She shakily brings the cigarette to her lips and takes a small draw, screwig her eyes shut, ugh... This was horrible

Daiki scans the shelves looking for anything small that might be of use that hadn't rotten yet. He stared at a box of twinkies and scanned the box for any holes before putting it in his bag. Everyone knew they didn't expire.

Karane's eyes watered slightly as she started coughing, She had never ACTUALLY smoked before... Ever. All she really knew that it was like licking asphalt but helped be relax. Instead, she dicided just watching the cigarette burn and the smoke curl up into the darkness was calming enough..

Daiki looks over when he hears her and frowns a bit with a small sigh and a shake of his head. He pulls out the lighter he had taken and opens the package lighting one and breathes it in holding the fumes for a moment before breathing out. "did they send you here by yourself?"

" Yes," She answers softly, glancing at Daiki with a slightly embarassed duck of her head," But they also gave me an operations center with supplies to trade and research while i was here." Karane flicks the ash off the cigarette and smiles," Thats where i was going before i saw ya,"

[Light]

"You should have kept going there," he grunts turning from the shelves to move back to the front of the store.

" Than i wouldnt have found YOU, a survivor than," She answers simply," Never would have seen the-" she stops herself and smiles slightly," Any way, please, come with me."

[Light]

"To your research facility?" he snorts a bit and looks back out the window, "I didn't agree to give you your samples girl,"

" How could i convince you than, i have supplies to give you or would you need something else?" Karane gives him that annoying calculating look again

"No deal," he confirms flicking the cigarette, the ash falling to the floor, "I already told you why. I don't need anything."

Karane huffs," Just think of it as your average doctor appointment," She tries, bringing the cigarette to her lips, hesitating and bringing it down again

"I never went to the doctor," he rolls his eyes, "Never had to,"

" You've never had a f*ck mothering vaccine?" She gapes

"/NO/," he scoffs seeming to laugh a little at her reaction, "I had those; it was required to be a police officer, I just did them myself."

Karane seemed to look disappointed," Awww i was hoping i found a super human," she pouts for a few seconds before straightening and leaning foreward with interest," Still, you must have a pretty hardy immune system..."

He looks at her with a unamused gaze, "Try anything and I'll leave you here,"
