On the way there in a plane, one of the wings gets ripped off and they crash land. Our characters will survive, them being the only passengers aside from the pilot that was crushed when they nose dived out of the sky. Stuck in the snowy wasteland, they salvage what they can from the plane and set out.

I was thinking that one could be a pessimist, just wanting to stay where they were and freeze to death. The other will be more buoyant and drags the other with them, saying that they might run across a town or group of humans--which they don't. Just big snow saber tooth tigers and mammoths.

Now, the reason there was only two on the plane could be because they were supposed to just be getting a feel of the area before bringing a full team to scout.

That's about all I can pop out.
