Don't worry, you don't have to fake a smile--I just want you to be true
Red, blue, orange, and yellow reflected into their eyes. Round and round they went, up, and the down, all around. The spheres held the children's attention most of the time, but few moments in between their fascination they would glance at their wielder.
A blonde haired boy, just around their age, ten or so, with a painted mask over his face. That was all they would remember the next day, the Nameless Pierrot with the colorful globes. Light danced in the balls, some saying it was wizard dust inside the shaded glass. Fairies, faces, fruits, vegetables formed inside of them they said--but no one could agree, because they all saw something different.
A woman, older and sad looking, wandered through the happy lights trying to find some comfort in the lights that her son had loved so much before... She saw the gleaming globes and meandered over, trying to remember why the boy wielding them looked so familiar.
The globes are tossed up into the air much higher than they were being propelled before, and the entertainer catches them. They seem to disappear as soon as they land in his palm, the boy goofily twisting and turning around, making it seem as if he was panicking about catching each ball.
As the blue one disappears, he slouches his shoulders in playful relief and bows to the little children and adults, egging on their smiles by sometimes tripping.
The woman gazed at the boy, feeling a sensation that she knew this boy more and more. She moved a bit closer, studying his features when he came near. She gazed at him almost nervously. Who was he?
The figure was slowing making his way to turn towards her. His body lurched to the side though as a thunderous crack fills the air, a rock skidding across the ground in an innocent way. He seems to stand, stunned at what had happened, scarlet red dripping down the white face mask.
He moves the mask a bit, part of his face showing from underneath it. He smiles and nods his head, the color of his eyes reflecting hers like a mirror. He places it firmly back on his face and snaps his fingers, the blood suddenly turning into vibrant roses. The children that had been crying gasp in awe, and he points to the smile on his mask, urging them to smile.
