He let out a snort, turning back to the chest. "Had to be sure, all you women act the same." Well, save for one. Hiding a smile with a cough, he glanced at her one last time, before slowly pressing the dagger to the chest. "Fine then, only for curiosity, right?" Jeez, I am getting soft, Jackson wasn't kidding, he thought dryly to himself, a glower slowly appearing.
Alexianna rolled her eyes, "No, I want to steal from you. Yes, of course it's just for curiosity. I'd never be that much of an a*s, even if I'm a thief."
"Gee, so glad you have some humanity in you," he retorted, sarcasm dripping in his voice, "I was starting to loose faith in thieves." He was stalling, hoping that she would grow bored and walk away from him.
The assassin grimaced at her, rubbing his side where she prodded him. "I'm not a thief, I'm an assassin," he muttered, "there's a huge difference." He sidestepped the question, not exactly feeling comfortable around this woman.
He frowned at her, a little surprised of her sarcasm, as if he had expected her to be as quiet as she had been. "It's our nature," he replied, shrugging, "we try and sneak out of things; I can't understand why you're so surprised at this knowledge."
"I'm not surprised- it takes a lot to surprise me. But I am persistent. I'll keep asking you," She tapped her foot on the ground, watching him, "My name's Alexianna, it's nice to meet you, No-Name-Assassin."
He cocked an eyebrow up, staring at her in disbelief. He shook his head, almost sighing. "Right, now that we've gotten introductions out of the way," he said, turning back to the chest, like he had introduced himself, "why don't you scamper away? The guards might be back."
"That doesn't matter to me. They'll still be somewhat drunk and I can run fast," Alexianna put her hands on her hips, "You said you'd show me when you opened it."
He grimaced, half hoping she would've forgotten about that. "Alright, alright. Though don't blame me once they find us," he muttered, before raising his blade again. Though this time, he slammed the hilt of it on the lock, ringing as it hit the metal lock. He paused, waiting to see if it had raised an alarm. Apparently, the girl -Alexianna, was it?- was right; the men were too drunk to notice. He repeatedly slammed the hilt down on the lock, it slowly cracking. Finally, after the seventh smash, the lock showed signs of weakening, as it started to crack. Grumbling under his breath about how his weapons were slowly loosing their edge, he brought the hilt down again. The lock clattered to the ground, his mouth slowly opening in surprise.
Closing his mouth and recovering, he chuckled. "There we go, knew it would work." He opened the lid up, grunting in surprise at how heavy it was. Once it was opened, a confused frown crossed his face, as he picked up what was inside. He held it up for the girl to see, an eyebrow raised, as if thinking she would know what it was. It was a small flask, light blue liquid sparkling in the lamplight.
He sighed, his shoulders falling. "Da**, thought you would know what it was," he muttered, staring at the bottle. He got to his feet, brushing himself off. "Well this has been a huge waste of time, though it's been swell," he said, flicking his hand in a goodbye, as he started sauntering out of the tent.
"Listen, all I had to do was fine this thing. I could honestly care less," he said, poking his head out of the tent. Though he quickly realized that there was no way the drunken men would even notice the two if they walked right in front of them, waving their arms about. "This was easier than I thought it would be," the assassin mused to himself, letting out a sigh like he was disappointed in this fact. He walked out of the tent, brushing the cloth he kept rapped around his neck away. "This is where we part, I guess," he said, turning around to look at her, the forests right behind him. He gave her a mock bow. "'Tis been an honor," he said cheekily, giving her a smirk.
