The world is ruled by a single man--known only as the Lord Ruler. This emperor is cruel and oppressive, but to his people he's a god. Immortal, all-powerful, all-knowing. Long ago, the early dragons realized man's potential and made a pledge to serve them. Those who fulfilled that pledge became a part of the constellation Draco, like a dragon heaven. One way for a dragon to earn their place in heaven was to share their heart with a dying human. When a dragon shares their heart, the dragon and the human share each others every strenght, and every pain. The human becomes immortal, and the only way to kill them is to defeat the dragon who shared their heart. But if that human's heart was a corrupt one, the dragon could lose their place in heaven forever.
Today, though, dragons find it harder than ever before to keep this pledge, because they are constantly hunted by humans who hate and fear them. Some who still follow the Old Code believe in the dragons' goodness, but those who do are few.

Two camps have been founded for demigods (the descendants of gods): Camp Half Blood for Greeks and Camp Jupiter for Romans. Neither of the camps knows the other exists.

Nightshade is about werewolves or Guardians. They have
pack laws and all packs are different: The Nightshades are loyal and brave, and so are the
Banes, but the Banes are just more, well flirtly. Hydes are a mix of both Banes and Nightshades.
The Guardians can change into a wolf, they don't stand on two legs and go insane
when the full moon's out. In fact, the moon has nothing to do with werewolves at all.
