She shakes her head and bites her lip to hold back a yawn, "Bread and water; that's all I need... Really. I'll take what little he cares to throw my way,"
As they arrived at her room, the guard gazed at her. "Im really very sorry about slapping you... it's the king, you see, you don't not follow his orders. Your bags will be in your room and just knock on the door if you need anything."
She steps inside the room, "Don't bother yourself about it... And goodnight. I'll call if I need something," she finishes, her eyes gazing around her new room... How long will she be here? "Don't defy the king ever, huh..."
The guard from the previous day bowed slightly and looked up at her. "The king has requested your presence at a brunch he is hosting," he said. "He also wishes for me to send you this." As he said this, the guard held up a single, red rose, only slightly wilted.
The guard nodded and led the girl through the corridors to the ground floor. They entered a large room with a mahagony dining table, at least fifty feet long, and filled with all sorts of exotic foods. The king sat at the head of the table as per usual, gazing at the girl. "Welcome, Lady Ludere."
"Please," said the king, "make yourself comfortable. We have the finest food in the world here for your taking. If there is nothing you like, please let us know."
She pulls a chair out, and sits down in it, "Thank you for your generosity, King Saunsum," she looks at the filled platters before her, her empty stomach saying to go ahead and eat.
