(Crim only please. Thank you ^^)
Ashlie Avley lets out a shaky breath, her heart racing and her mind slowly clouding up. How...how is this possible? She had doubted that she would ever be picked for this thing. Though here she is, sitting on a cold metal bench, bouncing her foot up and down on the ground, the slap-slap-slap is the only sound she can hear. It seems like everyone else is dead, blown away in the wind. And it sucks. Ashlie always hated the silence, it felt like her skin started to crawl whenever there was no sound; she needed to fill it with something, anything! And so, she sits in the pure white room, alone, nervously tapping her foot away, hoping that she will be able to get out of here.
She glances up at the wall, rubbing her hands along her arms, goosebumps slowly appearing. She had heard this was the worst part of this game: the waiting. In a few moments, she will find out who her partner is for this tournament. Though for now, she has to wait, unable to move an inch. Her stomach clenches as she bends forward, clasping her hands in front of her. Why did this happen? Why was her name called out to be a part of these games? Ashlie forces herself to take another deep breath, her head swimming. This wasn't supposed to happen; her name had only been put in five times. She knows other people who had been placed in more times than she could count.
Though her she is. Awaiting her destiny.
"Ashlie Avley." The announcer's voice startle her, her head snapping up and her green eyes widening in panic. No... Not now... "You're partner has been picked, Ms. Avley. Please, follow the stairs to you're right and come and meet them." Robotically she gets to her feet, her heart racing. Turning to face the stairs, she hesitates. After the stairs, lays a huge auditorium, where judges sit in the middle. They are to figure out if the two are able to compete in it, without killing each other on the spot.
Swallowing, Ashlie squeezes her eyes shut and counts back from ten, trying to calm her pounding heart. Slowly, she opens them and walks up the steps, blinded momentarily by the light. She covers her eyes and slowly walks over to where she is to meet her partner. She places her hands behind her back and raises her chin up at the judges, clicking her heels together.
