Leo tied his shoes and then walked over to open his bedroom door. "After you, m'lady," he said, flashing a smile.

Phoenix laughed as she trotted out of the house, "Thank you, Sir.~"

Leo followed her, a grin on his face. He closed the door behind them and started down the street.

Phoenix walked at a slower pace, her stride matching his, "What is on the agenda for today?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"More work. More interviews, more narrowing down the list." Leo sighed. This process would be even more tedious than he'd thought. "I hate work."

Phoenix chuckled and looped her arm through his, "It'll be alright, Leo."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Will it?" He looked over at her, his face tight. "A person is dead. More could be before we find this person. My people. It's my job to protect them."

"Hey," She gently rubbed his arm, "You need to stay calm about this."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Leo's jaw clenched and he looked away from her. "How can I? I've dedicated half my life to the protection of these people. They are my life."

"Yes, because I'll be here to help you," She said softly.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Leo stopped walking and looked over at her, something like awe on his face. "Where did I find you?" he murmured.

"Um, well, up there," Phoenix blushed, pointing up to the 'sky'.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Leo snorted and grabbed her, pulling her into his arms. "You got that right," he said playfully.

Phoenix giggled and kissed his cheek, "I'm glad you did find me."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"It's my job," Leo said. He released her and smiled. "I find people in need. Who knew that you would help me, though?" He shook his head.

"People can surprise you," Phoenix chuckled, shrugging lightly.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"People always seem to do that," Leo said. He started walking again. "It's not always a good thing."

"No, but it's not always bad," Phoenix challenged with a small smile.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"I guess not." Leo stopped outside her apartment building. "I can wait out here while you change, if you want."

"No, it's fine, come on in," She pulled out her keys and trotted into the building.
