Ari fell silent, sniffing and pushing down her tears until she evtnaully dozed off into a fitful and uncomfortable sleep

-TIME . SKIP-

When morning came, she woke up, her arms aching from the strain and shifts," Hunh..?"

Elizah was still sound asleep, his shoulders rising and falling slowly. Surprisingly, he had actually fallen asleep last night and was still out. It could be hours, maybe even days, until he woke up.

She shifts and tries to immediately get away, the scarf's cloth creaking as she struggles and thrashes, grunting with effort as the small tree begins shaking

Even though he was still dead asleep, he shifted where he sat, his eyebrows pinching together. He murmured something under his breath, waving his hand at Ari as if to try and tell her to quiet down, and rolled over on his side.

She moves a bit more frantically, thrashing until the branch suddenly snapped and smacked her in the shoulder," Ow!"

He twitched, jolting awake. "What the hell are you doing?" He muttered, scrubbing his face with his palms. Had...he actually fallen asleep last night? That hadn't happened in a couple of days... His head still hurt from exhaustion and the bags under his eyes were still evident, though he did feel a tinge bit better after resting for a couple of hours.

She freezes and immediately covers her face with her bound hands," I'm sorry!" She squeaks and begins to tremble," Please don't hurt me!"

Already a couple moments into the day and he was already dreading it. "Would you stop apologizing, it's getting on my nerves," he muttered, "just please, shut up so that I can wake up."

She quiets down, sniffling softly, she rolled her shoulders to try and get the stiffness out of her arms

Elizah let out a sigh, giving her a grunt in what could've been a thank you. He let the silence hang for a couple minutes, as he slowly woke up. Today was going to be a long day, he could already tell.

She perks out between her fingers and watches him, hiccuping

"You're not helping, if you keep crying over small things," he said suddenly, gritting his teeth. "What do you think you'll accomplish if you keep crying?"

" I-I dunno... I just can't stop," she sniffs," I'm just scared.. A-aren't you ever scared?"

He made a noise in the back of his throat, dismissing what she had said. "Please, a man never has anything to worry about," he scoffed.

" You lie," She murmurs and hugs her knees to her chest," You lie worse then most advisors to my daddy.." Ari sighs and growls

Elizah let out another snort. "Trust me, men don't have time to worry about petty things -we have to worry about supporting women."

"... You've clearly had a woman before then," She murmurs, frowning," What happened to her? Did she leave you? Did she... Die?"

Elizah rolled his eyes, though he felt his gut twist at her words. "Yeesh, already jumping to personal questions, huh?" No way would he ever spill about her, not to this person.

She nods and pulls at the ropes tightly," Yeah... But you already know who I am then, huh? That's personally enough," Ari looks at him, blinking slowly

He rolled his eyes, geez, women like her seemed to want to be showered with compliments -deep down, he couldn't exactly blame them, their line of work...was "special". "Well duh, obviously. You've made that blatantly clear."
