"You do understand why your father and I are doing this, don't you?" The woman gazed at her daughter, her eyes kind but not exactly loving.

"To get rid of me,, of course," Pippa rolled her eyes.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Don't be silly, child." The woman cupped Pippa's face in her hands. "We love you. We merely want what's best for you, and our House."

"Wrong. You want what's best for you," Pippa sighed, begrudgingly looking at her mother.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

She frowned. "You don't think I have your best interests at heart?"

"Maybe you did at one point, but not anymore," Pippa pulled away, "Otherwise you wouldn't make me do this. I don't want it. Neither does he!"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

The woman's face hardened. "You're children. You don't know what you want, nor what is best for you."

(And you won't know until your forty, and even if you get it, you'll be too old to use it! Lol)

"How would you know that?" Pippa snapped, pulling back.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Because I'm your mother, and I have a lot more life experience than you," she replied coldly.

"Yeah, experience in being told what to do for all of your life," Pippa snorted, rolling her doe eyes.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Yes," she said. "And my parents were right."

"That doesn't make you right by default!" Pippa spat, "You and I are different people."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

She sighed. "Someday you'll understand." She reached out to take her daughter's hands. "Please, Pippa..."

"Mother, I can't marry him!" Pippa wasn't usually one to cry. She was a strong young woman and knew that crying was admitting weakness, "He despises me and I share that feeling. He'll make me miserable."

"You don't know that," she said. "I'm sure you'll come to love each other like your father and me."

"Then you obviously know nothing about me," Pippa gave her mother an unamused look,"I'm nothing like you."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

She sighed once more. "I'll leave you alone for now. Let you calm down."

Pippa turned her back to her, "Do me a favor and leave me alone forever."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"That's not going to happen, Pippa," she said. But she turned and left anyway, off to find her husband.

She spun around and threw her hands up, "Ugh!" No one ever understood her. Especially not her parents.
