"All the more reason to trick my old lord." Calydaen pointed out before pausing. He hesitated before silently adding, "Not that any of the men your cousin acquired would be sad to see the man lose everything...he was a horrid being."

"Don't be," She warned him and gave him a fleeting look out of the corner of her amethyst eyes, "Just shut up and finish your vegetables." She leaned forward and poked the long, slender twig through the squirrel, hovering it over the fire.
"You'll never know the endless nights, the rhyming of the rain."

"Thank you," She muttered under her breath and stood up. "I'm going to go fill our bottles with water, and probably take a bath too. Do you mind staying here?"

She was back as promised, skin damp and gleaming from the water and her silverish hair tied back in a neat French braid. "You can bathe now, if you'd like. The water is warm," She gave him a soft smile and sat down again. She didn't have on her thick coat, so it was just her vest keeping her contained and proper-looking rather than bare-chested like some sort of man. Her leggings were tight to her skin - easier to move around in - and her thick, black boots reached her knees. She had on fingerless gloves with pieces of metal attached to the knuckles, and her arrows looked freshly cleaned. The bow was shining with oil or water or something to make it gleam like it was new.
"You'll never know the endless nights, the rhyming of the rain."
Calydaen passed off the spoon he'd be using to stir their dinner, taking the moment to study Saryna, "Alright, thank you." He turned in the direction in which she'd just come. "I should return shortly." He said simply before disappearing towards the water.

She sat down and kept her knees drawn up to her chest, stirring the soup calmly. She flipped her hair over her other shoulder and squeezed it to get all the water out, humming softly.
"You'll never know the endless nights, the rhyming of the rain."
Calydaen returned after awhile with his wet hair slicked back, but otherwise he looked much the same as when he left. His tanned skin hidden under long-sleeves and concealing clothing. If it hadn't been for the encounter yesterday, it was clear that his only weapon was a dagger attached to his thigh. "How is the food coming along?" He asked as he approached.
