The pinch of her fingers against his skin got his blood rushing. Daemon could feel her stiff posture, but she wasn't running. That was good, right? His hands slid away from her face, down her shoulders and to her waist. "You don't have to be afraid anymore," he whispered. But, damn, no one knew better than him that they should both be terrified.

Felicity stiffened even more as he moved his hands. He was right, she didn't have to be afraid. But she was. Her breaths became sharp and erattic.

Daemon dug his fingers into the small of her back, feeling her tense muscles. "Relax," he whispered between kisses. "Let go."

Felicity swore she had no idea how to do that. When was the last time she was relaxed? Definitely not right now. No, right now she couldn't breathe and her mind was screaming at her to run but something else asked her to breathe, to stay, to try to enjoy this. The conflict raged on.

Daemon broke away and then reached up to smooth down her hair. "We should get out of this alley," he said, his lips quirking into a half smile. "It's a bit stinky."

Felicity shuddered into a laugh. "I guess." She still felt uncomfortable but there was a humming in her body that kept asking her to relax. She waited for him to move first. If she moved at all she would touch him, and she couldn't fathom that.

Daemon didn't seem to have any problem with touching. He slid his hand down her arm and took her hand before leading her away from the wall and out of the alley.

Felicity followed him, trying so hard to catch her breath and focusing on making her heart beat that she didn't notice where he was taking her. He eyes didn't see except for their hands were connected.

Daemon actually ended up leading her to his car. He opened the passenger door. "Get in," he said. "I'll give you a ride home."

Felicity didn´t move. She couldn´t. Time had frozen for her back when their lips had met and yet somehow they were still moving. She couldn´t comprehend anything. What was happening?

Daemon sighed and nudged her forward. "Come on," he said. "It's not like I'm going to kidnap you."

Felicity slowly turned her heads towards him, her lips quirked as if she could sense the humor but didn't really feel the emotion that went with it, and she dropped unceremoniously into the passenger seat.

Daemon swung the door shut with a little push and jogged around the other side. Once in the car, he started the engine and pulled out of his spot. "Where do you live?" he asked.

Felicity turned her head slowly and stared at him. Where did she live?? "Um, 6th street. Apartments."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Daemon raised his eyebrow at her hesitation and then nodded. He traced the route in his head and then turned a corner. He found it utterly bizarre that he was driving this girl home. Whenever he drove a girl somewhere, it was usually to his place.

Felicity watched him as he drove, her eyes bugging out less as she did, her stress slowly releasing as she slumped against the car seat.

Daemon glanced over at her, the streetlights flashing over his face as they passed them. "Are you okay?" he asked.

Felicity took an extremely deep breath. "Yeah." She breathed. "I think."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Daemon gave her another lingering glance before focusing his eyes on the road. He didn't say anything the rest of the way there. He spotted the apartment complex she'd mentioned and pulled up to the curb. Shutting off the engine, he got out and walked around to open Felicity's door. "Come on, let's get you upstairs."

Felicity stared at him as if she wasn't quite sure that he was real.She stepped from the car and paused as if he had taken her to a foreign place only he knew. "And then what?"
