Natsuyuki took a deep breath after her, trying to tell the difference. It was lighter; there weren't as many people and workshops polluting the air. But he was still high on the fact that they had left Alitia without running into his brothers men, and couldn't really tell the difference to be honest.
Weakly pumping his fist in an excited manner, Natsuyuki cheered, "P-past th-the first hu-hurdle!"
She hopped from foot to foot, looking like she had just woken up from a nice nap and meal and was ready to sprint to the next islands within an hour. "That's the spirit!" She cheered, raising her fist in the air more energetically. "We're that much closer to being free!" Celeria put her hands on her hips, glowing with silent laughter, before calling out and starting towards the inn, "Forward march!"
"R-right!" he rubbed his forehead with his forearm and pushed his sweaty bangs up. "I-I can't decide if I w-wanna eat, or sl-sleep first," he said while jogging forward to catch up to her. He looked around excitedly, drinking in what the outside of Alitia had to offer his eyes. It wasn't as flashy, but looked well-kept, as to be expected of an island right off of the capital.
She chuckled, putting her hands behind the back of her head. "Well, if that's what you're really worried about, then I'm sure we don't have much to fear!" Celeria said cheerfully. She put a hand to her stomach, letting out a sigh, "I'm personally just looking forward to eating, I haven't had anything since lunch time." Her stomach let out a growl, affirming it.
"W-well, the-there are other things i'm worried about but..." he pushed open the door to the inn and looks in, the area in the front crowded with guests sitting at tables and eating. "I-it'll... it'll happen, when it happens. I-I'll just make... my stomach hu-hurt, thinking ab-about it," he sniffed the air, the smell of good food making his stomach growl as well.
Before she walked in with him, she took off her cloak, before snapping her fingers, shrinking it and shoving it into her pocket. Celeria followed after him, humming a cheery tune. This time, she didn't try and hide from the world; the rabbit clan of Taguels were a well known race, you could usually find them on almost every single one of the islands - there was so much of them, in fact, that they were just a couple thousand short of the cat clan. There was no need to hide now. She looked around the room with a fairly surprised look, her ears bouncing, as she commented, "I'm a bit surprised at how many people are here...though I guess every other inn at Atilia is full." She walked over to the bar, before rapping her knuckles against the counter. "Excuse me, could me and my friend get a room here?" She asked the barman.
He followed behind her, careful not to trip over a large tail that laid in the way, and avoided knocking into one of the many waiters. He looked up and down the bar, his mouth slightly agape at all the different species. 'Were those tiger ears?!'--his head snapped back to the barman as he replied.
"We got one open, if you don't mind waiting a bit for one of my girls to clean it. Had a mishap with a fish and a couple of his dog companions." He set down a glass near several others, cleaned and ready for use. "Just enough time for you to grab some vittles--you and your boy there look like ye need it,"
Celeria nodded, not looking deterred from what he said. "Of course, we're not in a rush," she cheerily said, slapping her hands against the bar in a rhythm, "yes please! We'll be seated over there." She pointed to an unoccupied table in the back, before grabbing Natsuyuki's hand and leading him towards it. "Thank you!" The mage called over her shoulder, shooting the bartender a big smile.
"Enjoy!" The man said as she pulled Natsuyuki away, his head turning to call for one of the waitresses.
"Oi! Derril, we got some guests waitin' fer ye! Tell them twins to get their heads out of the window and clean that room while ye at it!" A mouse girl squeaked an affirmative before rushing to the front to tell the girls slacking off to get to work.
Natsuyuki watched this and more as they walked to the back, "F-fish...?" He mumbled softly before he shook his head. Best not to think too much on it... "Vittles...?"
Celeria chuckled at his confusion, though didn't answer his questions, until they reached the table. She dropped her hand from his and settled down with a sigh. She massaged her foot, grimacing a bit, before she finally said, "It's what the inns serve as food, the 'vittles,'" she replied, "I've been to only two inns and their food was incredible! ...Though they were in Alitia." She gave him a one shoulder shrug. "I'm sure the food here won't kill us!" She leaned her head against the wall and closed her eyes, humming a merry tune under her breath, seeming perfectly at ease.
Natsuyuki took off his cloak finally, and sat down as well after he hung it off the back of his chair. "A-ah..." he brightened, having learned something new--and stored it in his head for later. "I stopped and ate something in Alitia, while I was running away. They had s-something called s-soup, it was real good," he sighed happily and looked around at the other tables, checking out what they had in front of them. "I-I hope it's good, I-I me-mean, it looks good, fro-from what I can see," the waitress that had run to the front merrily dropped in by the side of their table, her long mouse tail twitching behind her.
"Welcom' to the Roarin' Boar! What'yall have tonight? Jurts out in the back making a mean barbecue, an' we got a new shipment of mulberry wine from Fretia last night!"
Celeria chuckled, as she opened her eyes, giving Natsuyuki a wink. "Ah, don't worry about it, if the food's poisoned, at least we'll die happy!" She glanced up at the waitress, giving her a large smile. "Sure, barbecue and some wine sounds perfect!" She said, almost starting to cheer, she was so hungry. It seemed like forever ago that she found the bastard prince and decided to go with him on his journey...
Natsuyuki, with the small amount of courage he had left over that day, paled and sat rigid in his chair; he had taken her seriously. The mouse laughed loudly and patted him on the back.
"Ya want me to poison test it for ya?" she said with a grin.
"N-No," he stammered, shaking his head and willing his shoulders to relax; they were only playing with him... at least he hoped they were. "I-I'm good," he smiled, and the maid bounced away from their table with their order on her lips. The brunette slowly lowered his head to the table, and let it rest on it's surface. "I-I've su-survived th-this much... I-I won't let... food bea-beat me-e," he promised under his breath.
Celeria laughed, crossing her hands over her chest. "It would be a great way to go," she teased gently, "though trust me, I'll make sure that you go out with a bang. 'Sides, there's sure to be people we'll tick off during our journey." She gave him a wink, enjoying this; he was just so easy to tease, it was hard not to!
Natsuyuki shook his head side to side, his pale face turning a shade or two whiter. "N-neither sound all that great, if you ask me. A-as f...for making people angry, I can already think of a few..." Yeah--Natsu could, for now he could still count on his fingers, but as their journey progressed... "W-well... at least there'll be some people that won't... hate and strive to see us under their foot... right?"
She let out a snort, turning her head sharply to the right, to hide a loud laugh. Geez, he really was a child, huh? "I guess, though who you are and where I've come from, I hardly doubt they'll be happy to see us. Then again, people always manage to amuse me." A gentle smile appeared, before it quickly disappeared to a smirk. "Eat up, kid. I'll be heading IP stairs to bed and I hardly doubt you want to be down here alone, eh?"
