Brett ran around the corner, "HEY! PUNKS!" she set down the bag and ran over to Nonie. Brett pushed two of them into a wall and stood in front of Nonie. "You better run little kids, Isn't it past your bed time."Brett growled, she felt like a guard dog. One of the kid rand a Brett and tried to punch her, Brett easily dodged the punch grabbed the kid by the shirt collar swung him around, tripped his leg and slammed him into the ground. The kid groaned in pain, Brett felt powerful which made her feel sick and disgusted with herself.

Nonie heard a voice. Wait, Brett? Nonie opened her eyes and unfurled from her ball slightly. Sure enough, there the girl stood, between the three boys and her. Nonie was shocked, and then worried. The trio looked unsure now, edging about. One of them snarled.

"Come on guys. Leave this b**** and her pup." He huffed with one last glare at Nonie and Brett before they turned tail and fled. Nonie just stared before shakily getting up.

"Brett!" She exclaimed. "Brett what are you doing?! T-they'll look for you now! You could get hurt!" She chided, hurts forgotten temporarily

Brett chased after them, "You better run, If i catch you-" Brett cut short 'Nonie' and looked back. Brett picked up the bag and carried it back to Nonie. "Hey, You okay?" Brett ignored Nonie's warnings, she could handle herself. Brett held out her hand to help Nonie up.

Nonie accepted her bag back and sighed. "I'm fine. Are you ok?" She asked, still looking concerned. "And how did you find me? Why'd you come after me?" She really had no clue how Brett had found her. She didn't follow her. At least, Nonie didn't think she did

"My shift ended and I was going to get dinner, I saw your bag then that kid's bike and followed it." Brett shrugged, "I guess like Fate." Brett smiled. "And I didn't even get hit!? Are you okay?" Brett laughed, Nonie really worries... alot.

Nonie sighed again, but smiled. At least Brett was ok. "I'm alright, really. Just a few bruises is all." She admitted. Then she averted her eyes. "And um... Thanks f-for helping me. I do appreciate it, but I just didn't want you to get hurt is all."

"It'm my choice Nonie, I have chosen to protect you... *Brett's stomach growls* but I am really hungry right now- I'll catch you later?" Brett smiled, she had worked another full day and only ate toast for lunch.

Nonie blinked and then nodded. She smiled at little bit at hearing Brett's stomach growl. She could feel her pain. Nonie was starving by now. She reached into her pockets and fished out her remaining money. It was a ten. Nonie only hesitated for a moment before thrusting the cash into Brett's hands. "Here, take it." She said with a smile before hurrying off

"But I have money!" Brett yelled after her, `I will give it back when I see her again.'

Should we do another time skip? It can't be too long into the future since our other thread is further along, right? I don't really know.))
