The bastard prince raced after her, ducking around the tents. The sudden turns were working his leg muscles- he could begin to feel it.

Rhos submitted under his kiss, one hand curling around the hair at the nape of his neck. Perhaps she wasn't just a mindless, singing bird after all. Scout said she had wits, so she wasn't going to argue with a compliment like that.

Kit blinked in surprise and he backtracked, darting in between the tents.

She relaxed into the bed, her eyes opening to watch Scout's face quietly.

Kit wasn't so discouraged yet. He understood the point of this exercise, so he would run until he literally could not take another step. He followed her voice, legs working hard.

She disappears through the ancient trees, laughing softly

Kit dodged the trees swiftly, laughing with her.
