She chuckled and nodded. Then smiled at him "thank you, you should go and get sleep as well"

Phoenix nodded. "I'll see you in the morning," he said. He gave her a smile before walking to the couch and laying down.

She nodded and walked to the bedroom, she felt bad that they were stealing his bed but she couldn't deny it. She walked in and laid next to Max falling asleep quickly.

Max awoke in the morning and felt an oddly neutral feeling against him, looking over he saw Jennifer.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Phoenix blinked his eyes open around the same time as Max and groaned as he rolled over. He'd slept a lot of uncomfortable places, but that didn't mean he'd gotten used to it. His neck was killing him.

He walked from the bedroom a little hastily and ran to phoenix. He pulled on his hand "i think somethings wrong with Jenurry"he said having noticed how her face was warm but the rest of her body held no heat.

Phoenix was fully awake in an instant. "What?" he said, scrambling to his feet and running to the bedroom.

She was slightly paler than before and her forehead was hot, with a fever probably.

Max was right behind his leg.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"No," Phoenix said, rushing over to the bedside. "Jennifer?" He lightly shook her shoulder. "Wake up."

She was limp in his arms until her eyes made a slight flutter to awaken but closed again

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Dread settled in Phoenix's stomach. He hoped this had nothing to do with what he'd given her. He'd never forgive himself for that. "Max, can you go to the bathroom and get me a wet washcloth?"

He nodded and ran to the bathroom grabbing a wash cloth and dabbing it with water.

Over the night her lungs had flared up again and her body had felt numb but being asleep she hadnt noticed and everything was black though she knew of the feelings filling the room she was in.

When Max returned, Phoenix took the cloth from him and laid it on Jennifer's forehead. "It's going to be okay," he murmured, mostly to himself.

Max nodded

Jennifer was limp in his arms her head resting against his chest. A few seconds after the cloth was placed on her forehead her eyes opened slightly opened she saw him over her but it was blurry.

Phoenix leaned forward eagerly when her eyes opened. "Jen?" he said. "Can you hear me?"

Her ears seemed to ring slightly and she looked into his eyes "it hurts" she said just barley audible. She moved one of her hands over her heart.

"I'm sorry, Jen," Phoenix whispered. "I'm so sorry. If I had known..."

She put the hand on his cheek."its not your fault" she said her eyes starting to close again.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"I tried to help," Phoenix said, sounding anguished. "I failed."

She shook her head slightly being unable to speak.

Max jumped forward "hey why dont you take her to the people who made her sick they could help right?" He asked

She was alive, just had a high fever and didnt look so well.

Phoenix glanced at Max. "I don't think that's a very good idea..." he said. If ICE got their hands on her, she'd probably never be allowed to leave. Then again, he could just break her out once she was better.
