Kelsier turned his head slightly so their lips brushed. No quite a kiss, but it made him inhale sharply. "Is that a true story?" he asked, smiling faintly.

" It could be," She answers, looking somewhat suprised and blushing quickly, pressing her nose against his neck instead," Anything can be true..."

Kelsier lifted his hand and pressed it against her back, his fingers threading through her hair. "I think I'd rather think about this."

Her gaze flashes up to his briefly, a small shudder passing through her body. Nyx closes her eyes and murmurs," Kelsier-" trailing off, she falls silent

Kell pressed his cheek against her forehead. "What?" he murmured.

"... I... I- never mind," she whispers, looking up at him with almost adoring eyes, her arms wrapped around his waist

Kelsier kissed her forehead gently. "Where did you come from?" he whispered, mostly to himself.

She looks ready to answer before closing her mouth and murmuring," I came from the North... I told you that," she chides gently

Kelsier smiled faintly. "Not what I meant," he said. And you know it. He gave her one last squeeze before releasing her. "We should get going. I'd prefer to reach the next village by nightfall."

She nods and slides back onto the mare, smiling at him weakly, blushing profusely

Kelsier mounted his horse gracefully and then led the way down the road. He knew the North pretty well, even the most remote parts. They wouldn't have trouble traveling to rescue his father.

Nyx spirred the horse on so they road relatively side by side, her eyes flickering through the forest warily. The Assassins she spoke of, would more really come?

Kelsier seemed at ease. He was good at pushing worries out of his mind, since he'd been doing it his whole life. It wasn't a permanent solution, though, and eventually everything came back to hit him hard. But for now, he was serene, just enjoying a ride through the forest.

Nyx looked at Kelsier for a long moment, wanting to do something to make him permaneantly peaceful though she knew it could not be true... She sighs but smiles faintly

Kelsier glanced back at her, a small smile gracing his face. "What are you thinking about?"

" If I told you, you would worry," she answers and reaches out to the falling snow, leaning back to gaze up at the sky, her hood falling back

"Tell me anyway," he said.

" I am worried for your safety," she answers reluctantly, closing her eyes and breathing in deeply

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"And I'm worried for yours," Kelsier said. "We knew this trip would be dangerous."

" Kell... I am not as valuable as you," she reminds him, whipping around in the saddles suddenly and staring behind them for a long moment before slowly turning back around and gazing at him," Or your father, please remember.. I'm your body guard."
