Jack looked over at the door but frowned. "Nah, tonight, you're going elsewhere!" He said before taking her along again, leading her by hand. They went through the halls until they arrived at a room. It was well furnished, with a fancy bed and everything. "Here we are! You'll stay here while I'll go get all the others."

"But sir i am a slave i cant stay here" she said

Jack shakes his head. "Too bad! This is where you'll stay!" He says.

She shrunk back "but sir whos bedroom is this?"

"No ones." He said with a shrug. "It's here for guests, but I'll put in word that this one is 'occupied' so no one forces you out, ok? Besides, we don't have any guests really."

Back ice again shakes his head and holds up a hand as if to stop her. "Too late! It is already done! Now go to sleep!" He says, motioning to the bed. "Until I see you march over to that bed, I'm not leaving."

She sighed and walked over to the bed, laying down she got under the luxurious covers and looked over at him.

Jack smiled warmly and nodded. "Good! Now good night! And get some rest." He said before leaving and shutting the door quietly.

She looked around the large room, her thoughts jumped around /ehat if im caught, what if hes caught, what if the king needs something and im not there/ then her mind jumped to the nightmares she always had. She snuggled into the blankets and shut her eyes.

Jack waited outside for a while, just to make sure she didn't try to sneak out. After about 3o minutes, he smiled and finally left, satisfied.

A gentle knock came from the door. "Colette? You awake? Heck, you in there?" A familiar voice asked

There was a muffled scream from inside the room, having been mistaken for someone important her hands were being held behind her back while another had his hand over her mouth, she had tried convincing them she was just a slave but being in this room didnt help.

Jack heads and ripped out his sword, rushing in and, not even stopping for the man to realize he was moving, charged forward and bashed him right in the nose with the pommel of his sword, yanking Colette out of his arms and holdin him out at sword length. "Colette! Run! You're alright, right?"

She nodded and ran out on his command hiding under the stairs, terrified.

The men growled "d*mn royal guards"

Jack only grinned and lunged forward, quick as a jackal, and plunged his sword into the other man's stomach. "Oh, and she actually wasn't a noble, idiot." He added with a growl

They cursed before they fell limp, thinking the royals had been alerted of their coming and used a decoy instead of having the princess in her bed.

Jack waited until he was sure the other man was dead before retracting his sword and rushing out to Colette, sheathing his blade and crouching next to her, concern etched on his face. "Colette! Are you alright?! I am so sorry! I didn't know!!! Can you ever forgive me?" He asked, hanging his head

She shook and hugged him, she trusted him, it wasnt like he could have known, "i-i-its no-not your fault" she managed to say her body still shaking

Jack looked up and gently led her out. Come on, lets get you something warm. You're shaking with fear. Wait here." He said disappearing into the room and emerging with a thick coat, putting it around her shoulders. "There. We should get you some water too, come on." He said, gently leading her to the kitchen to get water

She leaned against him slightly for support, it had taken her back, to the day she had been taken from her family, when her house was burnt down and soldiers hand cuffed her and held her mouth shut when they took her, why was he so kind compared to all the others?
