Matt rolled his eyes and glanced over his shoulder, back at the Nephilim. They were continuing on there way, completely unaware. They didn't carry any weapons, since they weren't wearing an invisibility charm. He wondered what they were doing out. Just a midday stroll?

"Looks like they weren't prepared for any sort of trouble. Good."River shrugged, "So perhaps you'd indulge me in a cup of tea now?"

Matt eyed her. "Very well," he said. "Let's get some tea."

River held out her arm almost as if waiting for him to take it.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Matt's eyes twinkled as he held out his arm for her. Much more appropriate for the lady to hold the gentleman's arm, in his opinion. Call him old-fashioned. He was over 2000 years old.

She looped her arm in his, and flashed a beautiful smile.

"Shall we?" Matt said, and then started off down the street. He headed toward a little café he knew of. The owner knew him... or at least, the man thought he did. In reality, he knew very little about the enigma known as Matthaeus Comis.

"Very well. Lead the way, Sweetie."River laughed.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"So, are you going to tell me how you knew they were Nephilim?" Matt asked as they walked. "You're not a soul-sensor, are you?"

"No. I told you. I have diluted witch blood. How I knew...that's a story for a more private place than the streets."River suggested.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Like over a cup of tea?" Matt asked, sounding amused.

"More like at my place later."River said, entertaining the idea of what would happen if he went home with her.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Matt didn't seem to catch the implication. "Perhaps," he said, somewhat absently. He was watching a couple across the street. They were wizards. Magical beings always drew his eye.

"What are you looking at?"She asked, casually.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Wizards," Matt replied, gesturing at the two people. He looked over at her. "There are more people in this world who have magic in their blood than most would think. I see them everywhere I go."

"Interesting."River nodded, of course she'd known that. But she figured why not make him feel clever.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Sometimes I wonder..." Matt murmured, his eyes growing distant. "Maybe there are others like me."

"Not to be rude, Sweetie, but you're really confusing me."River pointed out, a slightly baffled look on her face.

Matt looked at her, and then smiled and shook his head. "Nothing. Forget I said anything. I say weird stuff sometimes."

"Whatever you say."She sat down, with a smile. The cafe was wonderful, quaint. She was surprised she hadn't found it before.
