Because not Everything is as it Seems (Crystal)

[Light]

"depends on who Zaine sent in to get us." Serenity glances around nervously. She hated dark places- it scared her to death.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

The sound of a whoop echoed down the hallway, followed shortly by gunfire. Everything fell silent, and then there was the sound of heavy boots running down toward them.

[Light]

Serenity squints her eyes a bit, "let's hope that's not the boogey man," Her voice was slightly shaky, and she scooted closer to Nora.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

A tall figure with dark, spiked hair appeared in front of the cell, a grin on his shadowed face. "Miss me princess?" he said as he thrust a stolen key into the cell's lock.

[Light]

Serenity jumps at him when the cell door opens, "your late!"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Brooks looked hurt at her response, his expression far to exaggerated to be real. "You wound me, princess. I got here as fast as I could." He grinned at her then, and threw his arms aorund her in a hug. "Good to see you," he whispered in her ear.

"I guess you know him," Nora said as she got to her feet.

[Light]

Serenity turns her head back to Nora, "Yeah," She looks back at Brooks, "did Zaine send you here?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Brooks nodded, and then made a face. "I don't know how I feel about taking orders from HIM, though," he said. He glanced around her at Nora, curiosity sparking in his eyes. "Who's this?"

[Light]

"Her names Nora, she's marrying Seth." Serenity answers poking him, "Zaine doesn't like giving orders, he says its too much trouble- so consider yourself lucky." Another series of explosions follow, the world trembling from the impact.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

The sound of the explosions brought Brooks back to his task. "We need to get out of here. Now. Before they start sending in platoons of troops."

(A platoon of jadoon on the moon...)

[Light]

Serenity's eyes glow and she nods in agreement. Looking back at Nora she motions her to follow, "Let's go."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Nora followd the two of them down the hallway. Brooks led Serenity by the hand, his eyes scanning the dimly lit hallway.

[Light]

Serenity stayed close by his side, and the tall lean figure of Zaine came into view. From the back he looked exactly like Seth, but when he turned around his eyes were a light brown, his left ear pierced instead of the right like on Seth's with a silver Hawk. "Serenity." His eyes wander over to Nora in the dimly lit hallway.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"This is Nora," Brooks told him. "And apparently she's going to marry Seth." He glanced over his shoulder at her, a sneer of distain on his face, and she glared back at him. She probably knew next to nothing about the guy, and she was going to marry him? Pathetic.

[Light]

Zaine get's quiet staring at her, "Alright then- that sounds like what he told me." He walks up to Nora, tilting his head down to look at her. "He won't be able to come with us- He said he has something to do here still." He holds out his hand, a small hologram pad in his hand. "Seth told me to give this to you, and tell you that 'this would have to do for now.'"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"What? No!" Nora protested, not reaching to take the device. "Why is he staying?" She knew she was wasting time, but she'd said she wasn't leaving without him. She wasn't going back on that now!

[Light]

Zaine sighs grabbing her hand and putting the object in it tiredly, "Eloise is why he isn't leaving, if you tried to take him with you, you'd most likely get yourself killed."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Nora's fingers tightened around it and she bit her lip. "Why?" she whispered. "He can't do this to me."

[Light]

"He's got things to do I guess." Zaine shrugs a bit not one to comfort somebody.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Nora squeezed her eyes shut, a battle taking place behind them. It all came down to two things: How much did she want to be with Seth no matter what, and how much did she trust him? After what felt like a few long minutes, but was really only a few short seconds, she opened her eyes again. "Let's go," she said, her voice steely with determination.
