Ella sighed and lifted her head towards the sun, enjoying how the sun warmed her skin.  It was so nice and peaceful during the early morning, to have such a calm and quiet moment was quite rare for the teenager.  As she leaned against house's walls, Ella drew her legs closer to her stomach.  It had been a chance of luck she had guessed when everything was still quiet, and for now, she was quite proud of herself.

(I think I put her into a flock. I looked the wikifoundry site and I decided to put her in Ryan Moore's flock. Why?)

Jaen rubbed her eyes as she walked down the stairs. It was almost noon, and she'd just woken up. Well, that was her for you. She didn't like to rise early unless she had to. And to her, "early" was before eleven.

Ella finally got up, the peace finally broken, as the sun had crept to the highest spot and everything was slowly waking up. She stretched and headed back inside, her hands crossed over her chest. As she heard the sound of footsteps coming down, Ella glanced up and gave a hesitant wave. "Morning, you're up late," she said to Jean, tilting her head to the side.

Jaen raised her eyes to the clock on the wall and shrugged. "It's only 10:30," she said. She ran her fingers through her hair. Despite having just gotten up, she'd taken the time to brush through it and apply her make-up. You can't walk around looking like crap, even if you just woke up.

Ella opened her mouth, like she was about to say something, though she closed it with a shake of her head. "If you say so," she mused, now looking a little self-conscious. She ran a hand through her tousled hair and grimaced a little; she hadn't realized how she had left herself looking like she had just gotten out of bed. Ella had never been one to care for her appearance, though standing next to Jaen, made her look like a rat.

Shaking her head to get rid of the thoughts, she gave her flockmate a weak smile and said, "I had been planning on going for a small flight; I'm in need of a good stretch. You wanna come with me?"

Jaen played with a lock of her hair as she shrugged again. "Sure. You might want to take care of... that." She gestured at Ella, indicating her appearance.

Ella grimaced at Jaen's comment, though made no attempt to go and fix herself up. "Eh, we'll be up high, I don't think anyone will really notice," she replied. She gestured towards outside and said, "Shall we?"

"Your funeral," Jaen said before walking toward the front door. She only cared about her own appearance; she wasn't the fashion police.

Ella's eyebrows raised, though she made no comment. As she got outside, she let her wings fan out, letting out a sigh, as if it had been so much trouble to keep them in. The avian rose above, her wings flapping, as she glanced down towards her flockmate. "You coming or what?" She called, a carefree grin on her face.

Jaen snapped out her wings and threw herself into the air, great sweeps of her huge wings bringing her higher and higher into the air.

Ella let out a whoop of excitement, as she turned her body to flip in the air. God she loved to be up here, she didn't understand how the humans down below could stand walking on those two feet forever. She spun around and followed after Jaen, trying to catch up to her. "Where do you wanna head to?" She called to her flockmate.

"Does it matter?" Jaen asked. The look on her face was pure bliss as she banked to the side and threw herself into a roll.

Ella let out a laugh and shook her head. "Guess you're right; it's fun to just be up here," she replied, a huge grin on her face. With her wings stroking the air, she slowly caught up to Jaen. The avian stayed quiet, not wanting to ruin the quietness, besides the sound of rushing wind shooting across her body.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Jaen spread her wings wide, the air catching beneath them and her momentum carrying her in an upward swoop. She wasn't an expert flyer, but she'd had years to learn. She was good.

Finally, Ella broke the silence, by calling up to Jaen, "If you don't mind me asking, I was wondering if you could tell me how long you've been in Ryan's flock." She frowned a little as she continued, "I ask, because I want to know if I'm in good hands; if his flock has been around for a while, then I know that I'm safe."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"About a year now," Jaen replied. "If you ask me, Ryan's a bit... well, he's not the best leader I could ask for. But he's not the worst, either."

Ella slowly nodded and made a noise in the back of her throat. "Has he not lived up to expectations; I don't understand what you mean by 'not the best leader'," she asked, frowning a little.

Jaen gave her a wry smile. "We fight a lot," she said.
