"Rikki stop" he growled grabbing her arm and turning her to face him,"tell me whats going on" he begged, his eyes filled with sadness and concern, true, genuine concern, and when he realized he had gripped her arm too hard he quickly released her and let his hair cover his eyes,"sorry, see you later" he said quietly before grabbing his cigarettes and downing two vodka shots and rushing out. He wasn't in trouble, he just felt horrible.

She had melted at the look in his eyes, Ricki would had gone after him if it hadn't been for the tight gripped on her shoulder, "Don't. Keep playing."
She turned around to face him, "Please, dad, I'm tired.." The women said in a rush, knowing Cane was getting farther away.

His grip tightened, "Kept. Playing."
The look on his eyes was murderous, she couldn't deny him.

Ricki went back to her game, only to notice the man to her right was the same man Cane was small talking with.

"2 and a 6." She called specifically.

"If you get that, I'll double your chips. No, triple."

She gaped at the man to her right, "And if I don't?"

The handsome, slightly older man smirked, "You're mine."

Ricki rolled her eyes at his flattery. She rolled and the dice's numbers made the crowd behind her go wild.

"I guess I'm not yours." Ricki giggled.

The man gave the beautiful women a loop-sided smile, "I guess I have to triple your chips." And that exactly what he did.

Cane went outside and got his car from the vallet, he drove for a long time, smoking, deteriorating his lugs best he could until his phone rang, it was his brother. He pulled over and parked, staring at the phone until he finally picked it up
"Where are you..." His brother asked calmly.
"I don't know somewhere on the 50c, near the 70" he said with a bit of a slur from drinking.
"Stay where you are I'm on my way" he said, having one of his men drive him out to his brother.

Ricki ended up with a million dollars worth in chips from the man, whose name she found out was Gato, who tripled her chips. She could have jumped in joy! No Ricki could finally buy a car and pay for college, maybe even have a decent dinner every night!

She couldn't want to go grocery shopping the next morning.

Her father was happy with her wins so he said she could go home after all. Hawk told her to go without him while he cashed in the money.

Ricki practically sprinted out of the casino and made her way to the bus stop.

Carsto, on his way out to get his brother saw her at the bus stop and stopped there. He rolled down his window and smiled,"hey what are you doing out here, I didn't know you had left" he asked with a smile,"wait, answer that in the car, we'll take you home"

"Thanks, Carstro. But I'm waiting for my dad, we'll take the bus." Ricki smiled brightly.
Her aura completely changed to a happy one.


The very fact that she was going to be baking the next day because she had the money to afford the food made her day.

"You sure, the busses dont normally run this late" he said.

"It's Friday, they run very late." She said, knowing the bus schedule by heart, being that it was her only means of transportation.

He frowned,"please just get in the car, I'm sure Cane would not want you on a bus in that dress" he said then jumped, cane, he needed to get there, now.
Cane however was in the drivers seat, his head back, his hand coming to his mouth with the cigarette every so often.

"Carstro! My father is inside the casino. He'll be out in a lil'. Go get Cane." Ricki tried to reassure him with a smile.
"If his not out by the time you get Cane and come back, I'll go with you, okay?"

He nodded and drove off swiftly, driving to find Cane motionless in the car. He rushed over and shook him.
Cane pushed Carsto away,"you'll make me drop my cigarette" he groaned with slur.
Carsto pouted and opened the door, picking his brother up with difficulty and putting him in the back seat before driving back to the bus stop for Rikki with Cane passed out in the back seat reeking of pain, and sadness also known as alcohol and cigarettes.

Ricki had stuck to her word and got into the front seat.

She noticed Cane in the back, "That's the second time I've seen him passed out, but at least his not bleeding to death. Totally stained the rental car I had."

He chuckled,"well do you know what happened to him?" He asked.

"I found in the woods off 42, all beat up. He had a deep cut in his side. I saw a group of guys come out of the forest before hand, they helped me with my car. A couple of them were cut and beat up. Looks like Cane put up a good fight." Ricki looked back at him, "He didn't tell you anything?"

He shook his head,"when he came home the only thing he would talk about was finding you"

Ricki stared out the window, "Well, he should have focused on finding those pricks who almost killed him."

Carsto chuckled,"he's not that kind of guy, when he sets his sight on something he intends to get it, however, I've never seen him seek after a girl" he said.

"I kinda did save his a-- ," she laughed, "he probably feels the need to pay me back, his right of course, he owes me a jacket."

He shook his head,"it's not a debt, I think he really does love you in some way"

Ricki mocked a laughter, "He barely knows me, he knows nothing of love." She scoffed.
