--The next morning...

Maud awoke the next morning in a cold sweat, coughing. She sits up and quickly scrambles to the bathroom, quickly getting water to keep herself from fainting.. This was the normal morning routine, horrible as it was.

After a cold hower and choosing her cleanest clothes, she set off to the steel mill. She was the only girl to work there... Which was a danger in itself, but add the steel welding, working conditions and other things... Nearly an invitation for death, but it had been her home for four years.. So she dealt with the disgusting leers and touching... It kept her alive.

She went to her usual station, melting down the iron and other netals into the steel component... She had burns on her arms from the nolten steel splashing... It probably something that had contributed to her deterorating health..

He was able to leave mid day and when he got home he searched for his drugs, all of them, but it looked as if somebody had found them all.

a huge crash reverberated trough the streets and cries of terror followed '-accident at the steel mill!!'

He heard and his eyes widened, thats where Maud worked he ran there, ignoring the pain coursing through his body, he wore sweats and a white t-shirt and as he came up to see it he felt adrenaline pump through him "MAUD!" He called.

Smoke billowed from the mill in huge black clouds, flames melted glass on the far east side... Workers were evacutating but she wasnt visable amon them

He ran to the building, rushing in to find her, nobody could stop him from finding his bestfriend and the girl he had loved since high school "MAUD!"

She heard that faint voice... Anger immediately causing her lungs to tighten as much as the smoke did," Jenevo..." She calls softly, glancing to her right, a small river of molten steel sliding toward her... She tried to move but her legs wouldnt obey

Hearing his name be called Jenevo rushed towards the sound, finally spotting her and rushing towards her, couching, the smoke a little to dense for him.

" idiot... What the heck are you doing here?" She rasps and glances at the molten river... It wouldnt be so bad to die," You should be working at an icecream place or something..."

He shook his head "im getting you out of here, you need to be working at an ice cream place"

" not as much money," she rasps hazily, flinching when a spark hits her shoulder,"... But help me..?"

He picked her up bridal style "yes, help you" he said as he struggled to get out, pushing things away and holding her up.

she hugs his necktightly but doesnt answer, powerful coughs ripping through her

Once he was out he collapsed.

She doesnt move when he falls but lays next to him, completely out..

Firemen rushed over and lifted her onto a gurney "maud.."

She doesny move though the burns on her back and arms were horrendous..

His feet and legs were covered in scorched skin, the molten having only barely touched his feet burned many layers of skin off.

--at the hospital..

They had been put in the same room when they were brough to the hospital, Maud lay beneath the thin white sheets, staring out the window as rain pattered against the window... One of her eyes had been covered with gauze as was much of her body. A strange man sat next to her bed, holding her hand..

He sat in a wheelchair across the room, his legs, up to his knees was covered in gauze.
