It was apparent that his body was fighting off whatever they had put in him, his scales begins to rapidly form, and his skin harden. But the scales seemed to be rusting and falling off, the color faded. "Sh-h-o-o-t,"

"... Wh-what?" He asks, but points his pistol at Lumi

Caoi's eyes widen and she blinks

Lumi's digs his nails into his own shoulders, the haze slowly seeping into his eyes. "SHOOT." His shoulder begins twitching, the bubbling increasing like grease in a hot frying pan.

" No!!" He growls

Caoi sneaks from her hiding place and approaches him," Lu-lumeh..."

Lumi lets out a strangled scream, swinging his head as he tries to peel away the infection, "It hurts," he gasps begging, "Make it stop!"

Erin crouches next to then, putting a hand on his pulsepoint before examining his skin with a worried look.

Caoi rocks him gently, sniffing and burying her face into his hair,"... Lumeh..."

His pulse rapidly rises each minute, the skin blackening. "They're trying to get in my head," he wails, "They're pulling at it, want it want it want it,"

Caoi sniffles and whispers," Don't listen Lumeh... Look at me... Listen to me..." She whimpers, burying her face into his long hair,"... I love you lumeh... I love ye..."

She sobs softly and hugs him tighter,"... Stay with me... Stay with me Lumeh..." She wails softly

Erin had radioed in for help, his hands running over his scales, examining it with urgency..

"Goodbye... Cheri," he softly whispers, a sickening sound of flesh being penetrated coming from him, "Sun... Will save you..." He slowly pulls his hand out of his stomach, the toxin seeping out of it with his blood.

She wails and grabs his hands," N-no!!! LUMEH!!!" She wails her voice nearly becoming a scream," You said it'd e ok!!! You said life would be good!!!!!" She screams

"Life... Is good... Life is... Beautiful... Life is... Life is---" he chokes on a wet clot of blood that had begun to surge up his throat, "Fragile..."

" LUMEH!!! Please don't!!" She screams and hugs him tighter, tears flowing from her eyes as she kisses him

"Hey Caoi... I had a dream... About... Stars... So many stars..." His shoulders begin to slump, the thick, coppery substance leaving his mouth. The dark pink-brown eyes lose focus, the light leaving them, as if someone had blown out a candle...

She sobs and whispers," Lumeh... Don't leave me... Don't leave me alone... I don't wanna be alone..." She whimpers and hugs him," I though we were gonna get old and and and then... I though we were gonna have kids and... And.."

A thick arrow-like plasma shot whizzes through tthe air from down the hall, slamming into one of the oncoming infected that were surging towards the body and Caoi. It explodes, the blue sparks scattering like fireworks, burning the other infected.

"GET THE ***K AWAY FROM MY SON!"
