River ran his hands through his hair and sighed, still trying to wake himself up.

" Riiiiveeeer!!!" His mother calls with a laugh, her voice lowering," Forest, go open the shades, ok?"

"Mmm, no," He mumbled, rubbing his eyes. It felt too early to be awake.

There was an exosion of light when she throws open the curtains, the girl squeaking and dropping like a sack of potatoes after fall out..

"Christ, Ma!" River roared, sitting up and shielding his eyes, "I said give me a minute!"

She laughs and walks ito the room, kneeling next to forest who was holding her head in fear, curled in the fetal position

He groaned and rubbed his head, "Can't you let me sleep in for once?"

His mother just laughs and shakes her head, strokig the girl's soft hair as she clowly unfurls like a turtle, blinking at him

River muttered as he got out of bed and shuffled to the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

His mother had gone to the cafe to work, Forest was staring at one at the fake roses in her hands as she lay on her back and stared up at it,"..." She turns it slowly around in her hands and smiles

River was plopped in front of the TV, having taken off of work for the day to play babysitter. He flipped through the channels and yawned.
