When he pulled up to his house, he parked the car and hopped out, closing his eyes briefly.

"Thanks," He sighed and headed to the front door, pulling out his keys.

" River? Are you finally home?" His mother called, opening the front door and rushing to her son

Forest hanging baxk and watching

"Hey, Ma," River smiled gently and embraced his mother when she was close enough, "Sorry I wasn't back sooner. I should have at least called.."

" Oh my River... I'm just glad you're safe.. And You brought the infamous Forest sawyer with you!" She grins, her tone showing she was joking, embracing her son and grinning at the awkward girl who smiled back uneasily

"Uh, yeah. Forest is going to stay with us for a while," River murmured, stepping back with a forced smile.

" I know, I invited her here, Your father would've eaten me alive if I didn't show compassion to those who need it..." She smiles

Forest tilts her head," Your dad eats people?"

River nearly facepalmed and shook his head, "No, no, that's just an expression."

Forest shrugs and mumbles, River's mother gentl smacking his arm," Be nice," she scolds

"I am," River scowled, rubbing his arm, "Come on, Forest. I'll show you to your room."

He opened the guest bedroom door, "You'll be sleeping in here."

Forest looks at the room with awe," Wow... This is a pretty room.. Is that a bed?"

River nodded, "The door will be kept open all of the time other than when you get dressed. For safety reasons."

" Ok... Thank you River," she hesitates, dropping her pack before huggin him awkwardly from the side

River's body seemed to tense against her and he just patted her back before stepping away, "I'll let you get settled in.." he muttered, turning and walking away.
