They were close enough that their noses could brush, their lips could taste one another if they so desired it. Alainn's lips curled into a smile. "Oh? What is your top song?"
Álainn smiled. "I'll have to tell the Guardian of Music about you, Emi. You just might have a visitor soon." She touched her fingertips to Emi's cheek. "You.. Are one beautiful woman, Emi."
Alainn's lips were sweet-tasting, gentle, as they pressed hesitantly against Emi's. She pulled back a moment later as the entire restaurant fell silent. "Ná rá nach bhfuil tú taibhseach. Tá tú." Her Gaelic was beautiful, pure, sweet. She realized her mistake and spoke quickly in English. Dammit, she hated it when she slipped! "Never say that you are not gorgeous. You are."
Emi's lips curved into a sly smile and she reached out for Alainn's hand, "Why are you so quick to reassure me, but doubt yourself so easily? I see no reason for you to think you are not gorgeous, Alainn."
"I am overweight. I paint horribly. I'm addicted to flowers." She frowned, staring at Emi's lips. God, how she wanted to kiss those lips again. "And I talk in Gaelic."
Her face scrunched up, hair falling into her eyes. She puffed it away with some breath, staring at Emi, still grasping her thumb with her pinky. She smiled softly. "What does baka mean? And, besides." She leaned back again, tugging Emi's hand with her, "My physical beauty is my own matter. You don't need to worry about it."
"Loosely translated, it means stupid," She smirked, though there was nothing vicious in her gaze, "But your views on yourself won't change how I feel."
Álainn leaned close, chest brushing the table, lips right near Emi's ear. "Mm - my beautiful girl, you like Gaelic?" She leaned back just a bit, their mouths inches apart. "Then kiss me, and I'll talk to you in all the Gaelic you want."
Álainn broke the kiss first. "I own the painting shop. I have the loft above it. We can go there after dinner, if you'd like." Her eyes were soft, gentle, and she tilted her head, rubbing their noses together in an adorable Eskimo kiss.
