Álainn went with her gut. She ran her fingertips ever so lightly down the inside of Emi's arm, to the pulse at her wrist, before finally twining fingers with her. She gave a soft, hesitant smile, eyes asking if she had done something right or wrong.
Álainn felt her cheeks turn a pretty pink color as she blushed. She started towards the shop, voice excited. "Ooh! You can meet Sasha, and look at the gardens, and meet the butterflies.. Oh, god, and the birds! Even at night..." Her voice trailed off. She had gotten all excited again.
"It all sounds lovely," Emi laughed quietly and looked at Alainn in amusement. The Fey was so full of life. Doing anything with her would be enjoyable.
Álainn walked behind the shop, climbing up a short set of stairs, unlocking the front door of the loft. "Come on in." She dropped the keys back in her bag, crouching down, making a low whistle between her lips.
A beautiful dog that looked more like a wolf climbed off of a neatly made bed and bolted towards her mother, claws sliding over the polished cherry wood floors, ears flopping, eyes bright and beautiful. She opened her arms and the dog collapsed into them. Álainn was laughing. "Yes, Sash, baby girl, Mama's home. Yes, yes, belly lovings."
Emi stepped in behind her, closing the door after herself. She smiled when she saw the dog and the love Alainn showed for her. She noticed that most pet owners had a deep bond with their pets.
Álainn cupped the dogs face like she would have cupped Emi's - great care, tenderness, love, devotion. She flicked her eyes between the silver-blue orbs and her face fell to a soft whisper. "Sasha, this is Emi. Be nice." She stood up, smiling nervously. "Go ahead."
The dog stood, wagging her tail, dropping to her haunches in front of Emi's legs, ears pricked, eyes attentive.
"I'm going to water the plants real fast. And probably take off my shoes. Do you mind if I walk around with no shoes on? You can walk around with no shoes on." She was nervous - that was clear in the babble.
Emi held her hand down for Sasha to sniff. She crouched down at the same level as the dog and smiled, "I'm used to Japanese customs. We always remove our shoes indoors."
She nodded. "Sasha is very... Eager to meet new people. Don't be surprised if she-" She burst into hysterical, easy laughter as Sasha totally ignored the hand and launched herself at Emi, excited little barks and yips whining around the room.
The demoness caught her, eyes widening in surprise. The force of it made her fall back on her butt, but she just laughed and patted the eager dog's head.
The dog slid off of Emi, winding around the woman with an apologetic gleam in her eyes. Álainn laughed. "Would you like to come water with me? She feels calmer around the flowers."
Álainn wandered outside, to the balcony. She was greeted with soft, sweet scents. God, she was home. Home was the best place to be.
Her body swept down another pair of stairs with beautiful black steps and white railing, eyes lidded as if she was experiencing some amazing, life-changing climax or something. She finished the last step, shoes and socks abandoned above her, and trailed her fingertips through flowers lovingly tended. She picked up a small waterer, filled the container, and sprinkled some magic into it, humming as she began to water her plants, hums turning to soft singing, singing turning a beautiful melody riding the night air.
Emi followed her, watching Alainn closely. She could see a change in the girl, seeing the way she relaxed around the flowers, "This garden is beautiful, how long have you had it?"
"Too many years to count." Her voice was quiet, singsong, as she finished watering, returning to stand in front of Emi. "I've never watered them without changing. It's difficult."
Her skin gave a delicate shiver, but her eyes closed, her breathing regulated. She had changed in the space of a heartbeat, standing there, naked, in front of her date. "Like this?"
She traced the length of her arm, all the way down to her fingers. Her other hand smoothed over the curve of Alainn's back, starting from the small of her back and moving upward.
