"Glad we agree. I hold one-on-one sessions every Monday and Wednesday, too." She smiled and took the money, putting it in the register. "Here is your change. Come back to the Splattered Floor Painting Shop soon!"
It was time for her class. Three people were there, but the door was open, cool air brushing through the shop. "Alright, everyone. For those of you who haven't been here before, I'm Álainn Brooke. If you need to contact me, I have the number, email address, and address I can be reached at on these cards that I distribute every Sunday and Tuesday night." She paused. "Welcome to the Splattered Floor Painting Shop!"
Emi was there at the class, sitting like a diligent student, her lips curled in a smirk. She looked down at the little card and tucked it away, for safe keeping.
"A lot of people have come up to me and asked me what to paint as a beginner, this beautiful woman being one of them. It doesn't matter! It's painting, people! Paint whatever you want - paint naked women, paint roses, paint trees, paint the city, paint yourselves. It doesn't matter! Painting is raw creativity, and it's whatever you want it to be. Just let yourself go when you paint. I chose to paint a woman last night. Look." She spun the painting she had done last night outwards, towards the crowd.
Most people would have been embarrassed, but Emi just smiled and tilted her head as she looked at the painting. Hell, being painted was flattering. She wasn't going to complain if a beautiful woman wanted to paint her, "Should we not be afraid of failure?" Emi asked politely.
"No, you should not. There is no such thing as failure when it comes to creativity, to creation. You cannot fail! You paint, and you create, and you make people feel something. That is the goal of everything in the world - is to feel. So feel! Paint what you feel! For when you feel, you cannot fail."
"Alright. Everyone has their easels, brushes, paints. Pick up your brushes, concentrate. And create." She turned to her own easel, beginning to paint. It was nothing more than globs of paint on the whiteness of the paper, but it formed into the shape of a building, a stormy sky above.
Though not as skilled as Alainn, Emi started painting and seemed to concentrate on her work. The colors looked random, looked unskilled, but she knew what she wanted to paint.
She nibbled on the end of her brush, glancing up at Alainn every so often.

Emi's eyes flicked up to the girl and she smiled to herself. This Fey was strange, unlike any Fey she'd encountered before. She was so much more human than most.
Emi's was coming along just as she'd hoped. It was a rose, a red rose, beautifully bloomed. In the center, a small figure was being formed. It was a woman, her head turned to the side and her lips upturned in a playful smile.
