As far as werewolves go, most people think that they would live away in the woods, running around like madmen and killing animals. But that was definitely not how most of them lived. Yes, they all shared one house to create a closer pack dynamic, but their lives were all different and all unique.

For Asa Gail Levos, a relatively new Moscow pack member, he spent a lot of time driving back and forth between the pack house and one of the nearest cities. Sometimes, he didn't come back for a few days. Asa was a quiet guy, at least he appeared that way. He generally avoided the pack, or tried to. No one really talked to him for very long. Where he went and what he did in the city remained a mystery.

Today, Asa was throwing some clothes into a duffle bag. He ran a hand through his ebony hair, sweeping it out of his green eyes. He moved at a rushed, yet graceful pace. The small chains on his jeans jingled when he moved and his leather jacket stretched tight over his slim back. Every now and again, he'd glance at the time while he packed.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Issy Reels lounged on the couch of the pack's house, a book in her lap. She was completely engrossed in it, her eyes sliding back and forth across the page.

Asa came down the steps, his bag slung over his shoulder. He was busy looking at his phone, so he barely even noticed Issy reclining on the couch.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Issy glanced up as he entered. Okay, so maybe she wasn't THAT engrossed in her book. "Asa?" she asked, recognizing her packmate. "Where are you off to?"

Asa jumped in surprise, looking up at her, "Oh, uh, I'm going to work. A friend's picking me up."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"A friend?" Issy asked with a frown. She didn't know people like them could have friends outside of the pack. "What kind of friend?"

"My friend Maxxie," he replied hesitantly, "He lives in the city."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Is he...?" Issy asked uncertainly.

[нαℓƒ~мσση]

"He's a Mundane," Asa answered casually, shrugging.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Issy grimaced. "Do you think that's wise, being friends with a mundane?" she asked. "Does he know what you are?"

"Maxxie has been my best friend since we were kids," Asa defended his friend, frowning, "And yes, he does. He's been with me through everything."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"If you don't mind me asking, were you born a werewolf, or were you Turned?" Issy asked.

[нαℓƒ~мσση]

Asa shuffled his feet a bit, glancing at his phone, "I was Turned," he answered.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"At what age?" Issy asked. She didn't seem to realize she was keeping him.

[нαℓƒ~мσση]

"I was fifteen," Asa replied.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Sixteen," Issy replied. "I was... sixteen." And it was the worst night of her life.

"I don't usually like to talk about it," He mumbled.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Me either," Issy said quickly, averting her gaze. She focused on the book in front of her, though she clearly wasn't reading anymore.

Asa watched her, his electric green eyes wavering. He got a text from Maxxie, saying he'd be a few minutes, so he still had time to talk with her.

Issy felt his eyes on her and glanced up. She wet her lips and shifted self-consciously. "Where is your friend taking you?"
