AU setting: before the land of waning was the land of waning, there was a group of people. These people didn't have special powers, and prayed to the gods that the larger animals wouldn't wipe them out. One of these many groups of people choose three children and send them out in search for their god patron to save their people... But who is it that's standing in their way?
My only North Star
I can play two or one of the children; doesn't matter. This is totally apart from the clubs main plot if anyone doesn't like it or think it'll interfere. Come in however you want.
Harsh snow beat down on the land. It swirled, it flew, it wailed, and sang. Water was important; but its frozen form was not always appreciated. To the people on the land that it assaulted, it was a both a hindrance and a blessing.
Their small igloos were hidden by the deadly beasts of the wild; but they were all the more vulnerable to disease and death by cold. One of the few igloos had the small opening covered with a small animals pelt, its brown surface streaked frosty streaks.
Inside... The villages elder woman was. Her young granddaughter had her head laid in her lap, looking at the roof of the igloo. Beads jingled and danced on the cieling, hung by animal sinew.
A young woman tramped through the snow towards the village, a spear gripped in her hand and her while form covered in thick, warm rabbit furs. She made it to the village slowly but safely and walked into the hut where the old woman was. She gave a short little bow and took her hood off. "Good morrow, grandmama," she said with a smile. "Are we waiting?"
(I was thinking it could be her, like, adopted grandchild or something? If that's okay with you! xD)
The old woman lifts her head, the beads tied into her long white hair lightly chiming with the movement, "Ah, welcome child." she readjusts the small girl in her lap and pats the warm animal blanket for the newcomer to sit. "Yes, we are still awaiting news."
The girl smiled and took off her warmest outer coat, revealing a smaller one underneath. She sat on the warm blanket near the old woman and looked at the child. "Are you afraid?"
"No," the small girl squeaks out, putting a mitted hand into her mouth, "Granny said that whatever happens happens, and that we shouldn't... shouldn't...?"
"Shouldn't argue, and just believe that whatever is decided, is decided for the best of the clan." the woman finishes with a nod of her head.
Tikaani looked around and nodded faintly, wondering why she didn't feel the same way. "That's right," she said. She wondered if she would get chosen- she was nearly eighteen.
"It is almost time," her grandmother reaches over, and picks up a wooden bowl with small animal bones in it, "they decided that this was going to be the last of the chosen. If we cannot find Cosmos now, we will retire to our fate."
The old woman gives her a tired look, "Child, listen better. I said that this will be the last time, not that there won't be another. I have put in my decision though that instead of sending children to their deaths, we will live here and hope the sister clan will make it." she runs her fingers thru the childs hair, "the goddess may very well not want us to find her."
"Or she may think we can overcome this without her," the old woman sighs, covering the girls ears as she looks up at her questioningly, "Watch what you say child,"
A horn blew suddenly from outside, long and low like a wolf's howl. Tikaani perked up immediately and stood. "They're announcing it in the chieftains tent?"
