OLD . DAYS

[Light]

No Name blinks a few times, and glances at her once more before tilting his head up to look at the sky. His head and back hurt... it wouldn't be bad to just lay down and sleep for a little... He lays on his stomach, closing his eyes silently.

[CrimsonMoon]

N'Reek smiles faintly and sighs, eyes still closed

- Time - Lapse -

Something wet trickles onto his lips, water," Wake up, I got you some water," a familiar voice sings close to his face

[Light]

No Names eyes fly open, and he stops breathing for a moment as the water touched him. He owlishly stares above him at the girl for a few minutes before he tries to sit up, "Thank you,"

[CrimsonMoon]

The girl stared back with a slightly awed expression, he had such pretty blue eyes... But she snaps out of it and holds the small bowl out to him," I wasn't sure how thirsty you'd be so... There's not much..."

[Light]

"I'm not that thirsty," No Name answers, "this is just right, thank you." he takes the bowl gently, and lifts it up to his lips. His eyes look up at her from the bowl, the blue orbs like the river she had taken him out of.

[CrimsonMoon]

N'Reak sniffs and looks away quickly, because he was an outsider she would not due what she so wanted to... Hug him until those pretty blue eyes were her's.

She turns her back and looks up as the sky began to turn a pale pink that faded to the navy black of night," We should go soon," she murmurs

[Light]

His grey bangs fall into his face, and he nods his head, "Alright," he lowers the bowl after finishing it, "Lets go then,"

[CrimsonMoon]

N'Reak didn't look at him again, already moving away from him across the field toward a large bonfire where people had gathered

[Light]

He hurries after her, seeing that he was getting left behind. He looks around at all the people he hadn't seen earlier, smelling the fire.

[CrimsonMoon]

The people looked up when they approached and draw back. N'Reak leads him through the crowd closer to the fire. Some villages reached out to touch his odd clothing and there were many comments about his eyes. It became obvious because most of the peoples' eyes were either black or brown... Only N'Reak's and her father's were multicolored with grey and hazel...

She settles down hear the huge fire and drags him down right next to her,"... There's a good story... I'm pretty sure the elder'll tell..."

[Light]

He crosses his legs, trying not to show how nervous he was at being picked and stared at like a new breed of animal. "Really?" he blinks the remaining sleep from his eyes and rests his hands on his knees.

[CrimsonMoon]

She puts her arm around his shoulder, seeming to glare at those around them, some kind of quite war going on," Yeah... You're going to like it," she whispers, blinking as her father appears, the large man looking toward the bonefire

[Light]

No Name relaxed slightly as she talked to him, and blows his bangs off of his forehead softly. He looks as her father approaches the bonfire, "Mhm..."

[CrimsonMoon]

She rests her head on his shoulder as a voice started from the other side of the bonfire:
" Once, there was only night. The sun never rose and the moon did not shine but merely hung in the sky as a lifeless rock.
We only had the cold blue fire of the stars. We thrived as the rest of our kind began to wither, taking on the shapes of the beasts that claimed the night as their own."

[Light]

No Name closes his eyes as he listens to the story, his breathing slowing down as he pictures each image of the words in his head.

[CrimsonMoon]

" The others suffered whilst we thrived. Jealousy grew in them and they drove us blindly into the deepest darkness.
We decided that despite our brethren's horrid actions, we should allow them life and in the end... Light."

The bonfire crackled and sparks exploded into the air, N'Reak leans against him, her breathing almost sounding like she had fallen asleep.

" We begged our starred guardians to forgive our brethren, and forgive they did. Filling the moon with their blue fire and pushing the Sun to their aid.
As more animals became visible, we became closer to the beasts, our brethren driving us to the edge of their lands when they saw us more clearly than ever...
We did not seek revenge but merely lived with the animals, drawing them closerto our hearts and minds-"

[Light]

No Names blue eyes open, and glance around sleepily. The words felt like they were dragging him under water, and they made him sleepier.

[CrimsonMoon]

The others around them seemed in a similiar state of hypnossis, N'Reak's breath was even and quiet but from the way her eyes were moving beneath her eyelids... She was seeing the story play out:

" And lo, here we are. Thriving whilst our brethren sink. And so we provide three children with the ability to thrive with us..."

A figure steps around the fire, an old man who looks straight at No Name, tilting his head with a crooked smile

" The stars have come again, and night will once again last for eternity."

[Light]

There was something weird about that ending--but No Name couldn't bring himself to react. His eyes droop again before reopening, more alert than before. It was a different story, something that prodded at his mind...

I his bleary state, the old man seemed to have painted something onto his forehead before moving on to N'Reek who hadn't even opened her eyes. She blinks slightly but doesn't move only to hug No Name's arm tighter. The faces of the other's in the firelight flickered, seeming to flicker from animals to human again. As if this was the time their spirits showed themselves
