He shook his head. "No. I am not going to kill you."

"So you'll let me rot, then let me rot alone, you hate me now anyway" She mumbled.

"I don't hate you," he said firmly. "I don't hate anyone."

She frowned,"you are confusing me"

"How in the world could that possibly be confusing? I don't hate anybody."

"I tried to kill you, how could you not hate me?" She asked.

[~echo~]

He shook his head. "You had a purpose. I respect that," he said.

She frowned and looked away,"c-can you take these off, it hurts" she said pulling at the painfully tight shackles, the metal digging into her skin.

He looked at her piteously. "The best I can do is ask for them to be loosened slightly."

She nodded and looked away and curled tighter up together.

Peter called for the guard who entered the cell an loosened the shackles just slightly so they would hang on her wrists but not slide off.

She kept herself in a tight position, now letting her hands rest against one side of each shackle. She closed her icy eyes and let her head hang, her light brown hair creating a curtain in front of her face.

Peter gazed at her. "I... I know it won't well at all but... I'm sorry about your brother."

She stayed silent and still, not moving again or speaking.

Peter sighed softly and sat next to her cell, watching her with gentle eyes. "I really am sorry. I did what I thought was right, but I was wrong. I have repented that day every minute since."

She again didn't respond, she didn't move nor did she let her emotions take ahold of her.

Peter took something wrapped in wax paper out of his pocket and handed it to her. Upon opening the paper, one would discover a hunk of cheese and a crust of bread.

She hid the wax paper in her blouse so others didnt try and steal it.

Peter continued to sit next to her cell, willing her to say something.

She didnt though, she couldn't, she wasn't ashamed but more disappointed in herself than anything else, she was so conflicted. Her feelings of hatred clashed with the crush she had recently gotten for him.
