OK, OK, OK. Let's start out with the basics. This anime is Blue Spring Ride, a shoujo. It's made by Io Sakisaka. It was published in 2011 and is still going to this day.
The premise is:
Girl and boy meet in middle school. Girl and boy fall in love. Unfortunately, girl messes up in trying to convey her feelings, forcing the boy away. The boy transfers to another school, making the girl believe that it was her that drove her away. Three years later, the girl is in her first year of high school. She's changed, a lot. One day she sees someone that looks exactly like her high school crush... And it's all history from there.
*ahem* now that I've gotten that out of my way...
I ADORE THIS ANIME.
I can't help but just grin like an idiot whenever I'm watching it. Seriously, this is honestly the best anime I have ever seen.
For sh**'s sake, look at how pretty this is:
AND THAT'S ONLY THE OPENING SONG.
Is it OK if I just marry every single main character in this show? Is that legal? Like, could I just marry every single one of them? Because I would, in a heartbeat. They are so freaking adorable together and I just...
But mati, shoujo anime is always the same! I hear you think (yes I can read thoughts). Ah-ah-ah! But this one is different! Instead of waiting for about 25 episodes for the two characters who are in love to actually, you know, convey their feelings for one another and try to work this out, they do that in the first episode! No, seriously. The episode had about ten minutes left and the two already established that they both liked one another back then. Liked. Unfortunately, the boy still can't come to terms with his true feelings (I won't spoil as to why, though you figure out in the third episodes, so don't get you panties in a twist). So it's the whole awkward phase of "ok, I like you and you like me, though what on earth are we supposed to do with this? We've moved on...right? and it is so adorkable and there are just so many scenes that make me grin. It's just so freaking adorable.
With the combined tension of what-the-he**-do-we-do-now-with-these-feelings? and the character's bouncing off one another, it really creates an amazing show. Seriously, I would rank this higher than Hetalia, Ouran High School Host Club, and Death Note.
I apologize for the gushing. I really like this anime...could you tell?
