Catherine chuckled softly, "That's the scary part."

"I'm sure mothers in the village will be more than willing to help you, Lady Catherine."

Catherine nodded and stood up suddenly, "I should tell Akeson."

Alexandra nodded. "Do you want me to come with you?"

Catherine smoothed her hands against her skirt and took a deep breath, "If you'd like."

"I will."

Catherine strode out of the tent, her braid hanging far down her back.

When they found the Khal, he was still training with his friends. He was winning their spar.

Catherine stood off to the side, watching her husband. He was so big, so strong. It was amazing that someone like him could be as kind as he was. She smiled softly, crossing her arms.

Alexandra watched, equally impressed.

The Khal finally bested his opponent with an underhanded blow to his leg. He didn't cut his hair but laughed along with the others as the man stood up, wincing. He looked over to his wife and then rushed over, excited to see her. "Wife," he said in his deep voice.

"Hello," Catherine smiled, stepping up and kissing his cheek, "That was impressive. You are still the best fighter here."

He grinned and stuck his chest out. "I am. How are you?"

"I'm good. I actually came here to tell you something," Catherine murmured, smiling hesitantly.

"What is it, my love?"

She took a deep breath, her hand going to her stomach and resting there, "I wasn't sure for a while, that's why I waited, but I know now. I'm..I'm pregnant."

The khal's face remained blank for a moment as he pondered this revelation. Then his face broke into an enormous smile and he picked her up off her feet. "Catherine!" he yelled jubilantly. "A child! This is wonderful!"

Catherine held onto his shoulders, eyes widening in surprise, "Y-You think so?"

"No, it's a blessing!"

She blushed and ducked her head, "I was hoping you'd be excited."

[~echo~]

"I'm going to have a child," he yelled to the world to hear. He then kissed her and hugged her close.
