"Concentrate on him," Burn said. "The coin will be the main part of the spell, but I'll need your memories of him to get a more precise location."

Valerie did her best to only remember the appropriate stuff but the other memories pushed to the surface, the kiss on top of the unfinished building, her first time, that time in the shower, her memories of the night he stitched up her arm when he didn't think she'd remember.

Luckily, Burn couldn't see her memories. He started the spell, chanting in the ancient warlock language. He closed his eyes and tilted his head back, images flashing before his eyes.

Eventually, Valerie's memories regressed in time to all the odd little moment they had met before at the burger joint, joking about each other's lifestyles. Who knew it would have become so beautiful and so ugly?

"I've got it," Burn said, his eyes snapping open. "He's definitely in Oregon, but you're not going to like where.'

Valerie gave him a look. "I don't know anything about Oregon. Where is he?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Noxton, the headquarters for Hell's Legion. Basically the highest concentration of Malum in the country. I don't think they'd be very happy to have a shape-shifter among them."

Valerie looked at him a moment. "What you said, back at his apartment, do you really believe that?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Hmm?" Burn glanced up. "You mean the part about him loving you?"

"Yes." Valerie swallowed.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Yes, I do." Burn paused and looked down at the coin in his hand. "How much do you know about Aron? His past."

"All I know is that he's a lone werewolf and he sleeps around a lot."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Burn smiled faintly. "That he does. I met him when he was 14. Back then, he was still part of a pack, specifically Martin's pack, the wolf who turned him. Martin and Aron came to me for help. The pack was turning on their leader because members were being picked off one by one and the others felt the alpha hadn't done enough to try and stop it." He paused, running his finger over the ridges on the coin. "I wasn't able to find the killer, but I promised Martin I'd protect Aron until everything settled down. He never came back though; the rumor is his pack killed him and another took his place."

Valerie stared. "I never realized." She looked down at the floor. "Let's get him. I hope your right, about what you said."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"I hope I'm right, too, for his sake," Burn said. "He could use a little love in his life. Now let's go on a suicide mission to rescue young Mr. Wynn."

"God I must be mental." She muttered but followed him anyway.

Burn led the way down the street. "We'll be taking the bus to get there, but it won't take us all the way. We'll have to walk a bit."

"That's fine let's just hurry." She wasn't sure if she wanted them to hurry so that she could see Aron, see if this guy was right, or because she just wanted it over with.

Once they were on the bus heading west, Burn leaned over to her. "You look nervous."

"I've potentially ruined my life to save a man who may or may not give a crap about me. So yeah you could say that."
