Tranquility reigned over this small region. Untouched by the wars of the Kingdoms, untainted by the pollutions given off by the industrializing cities, this tiny village was nestled in a small meadow hidden against the fertile white cliffs and surrounded by ancient forests that sang with the sounds of animals long sense thought to be extinct. A simple town that thrived as an independant machine. Alas, it is not the unsual harmony of the people nor the blessedness of the land nor even the scent of summer that seemed to cling to the air that was most striking about this village... It was the Legend of the White Stag. Having said to be the ruler of the ancient forest, the White Stag blessed the people of the village with their lands and in return... It would require a child be used to house it's weakening spirit... When that child grew old and eventually died, another would take its place. As long as the Spirit exsists within a child, the Village would remain a small utopia... But alas, many a hunter or outsider was sent to seek the hidden society to destroy or capture the Stag's host. Not one has succeeded nor returned alive.
Alas, now was a time of celebration... The current host of the White Stag was going to be revealed to the villagers after 17 long years of being concealed. The Cheiftain had carefully hidden the current host due to the attacks multiplying rapidly... But weeks ago, he had decided that the village was safe enough to reveal the Spirit once more.
~ ♉ ~
A girl was patrolling the very edges of the ancient forest atop the huge red elk the people had domesticated (like on Princess Monoke). She peeked through the almost impenetrable foliage and thick twisting trunks at the farmland beyond... She wondered quietly if she would ever get the opportunity to explore that world that her village had shunned for its chaos.
The girl wrinkles her nose and looks down at her elk snorts in disgust as the smell of smoke hits their nostrils... Though she was no worried, fires could be a nuiscance any way.
" Yip yip," she urges softly, the elk beginning to bound swiftly toward the smell of thick black air
(If you're not sure how to reply, remember the Seven Kingdoms are at war!)
