The coroner glanced up from the body of a young man that laid on the autopsy table at the detective. "John Doe. White male aged around 24 years old, died from multiple stab wounds from an unknown object, as well as multiple puncture wounds of unknown origin." He pointed pointed out five different wounds, "These five puncture wound all hit major arteries--would have bleed out in a matter of minutes."
He moved around the table and picked up the John Doe's hand to reveal the damaged digits. "All identifying markers have been removed--teeth, eyes, fingers. I would say acid, but the lab won't have those results back until tomorrow..." He removed his gloves and moved away from the table. "All the stab wounds except the five puncture wounds were seared close," He continued his report, "and happened over what appears to be a course of about a week."
Flipping the page of the report, "The removed appendages were all done with a serrated blade--not very skilled either."
36 Hours Earlier...
Colton Samuels fixed his scarf once again to protect against the wicked winds of this dark winter night. He walked along the deserted street back towards the hotel room he'd booked for the week. This is when he heard a thud coming from an alley up ahead. He looked confused for a moment before heading towards the noise. He saw a black sedan pulling out of the alley, but the thudding noise hadn't ceased...
He paused at the entrance to alley, concealed by the shadows and his powers. He looked on as two men dumped another man on the ground. He thought about intervening, but it didn't seem these men would see reason. It was a matter of three dead bodies or one dead body, so he stayed as an observe. They prodded him with some odd mechanism he'd never seen before and then watched them pour some kind of liquid onto the man's face, hands and feet.
They packed up their equipment before remembering something--one of the men returning to the body. The attacker's body blocked Colton's view of whatever they were doing now...
The man put something in a bag, and they walked into a door in the alley--leaving the body alone.
Colton waited a few minutes before stepping out of the shadows and walking over to the body--he'd never seen a murder before, but now he was curious. He looked down at the young man's defiled body. Why had they done this? What could their motives me?
He didn't know how long he stood over the body, just staring down at it. All he knew was he didn't hear the woman approach, but the blood-curdling scream made him look up. He took off out of the alley and down the street, nearly knocking the poor woman over in the process. "S--t." He knew no good could come from this...
