Daemon took one look at Felicity's face and stepped in front of her protectively. "I think not," he said. "She doesn't want to talk to you, so you can just get lost."

Felicity's fingers tightened harshly on Daemon's wrist but the rest of her trembled. No, not Daemon. No. He'll kill him. He'll ruin him.

Daemon winced at the force felicity was crushing his wrist with, but he didn't look at her. He raised his eyebrows at the douchebag--because obviously that's what he was--and said, "well?"

Instead of answering, the man looked at Felicity and took a step forward.
"Paul..." Felicity gasped. "Please... Don't."

Daemon slid over to block the man's way, his shoulders back and a menacing look in his eyes. "Take another step," he said. "I dare you."

Paul sneered again. "You don't know who you're messing with boy. See you, Fel." With that Paul spun on his heel and strode away, the crowd parted for him, women ogled, men stared.

Felicity's grip loosened a little and she let out a huge shakey breath.

Daemon scoffed and turned back to Felicity, his face stormy. "Who does he think he is?" he asked. "If I see that jerk again, I'll show him who he's messing with."

Felicity got a panicked look in her eyes. "I would not do that if I were you! Really..." She looked down at the floor and took a deep, shaky breath.

Daemon frowned at her. "I don't know who that guy is, but I'm not afraid of him." He was pretty sure Felicity had no idea who he was--Daemon Griffith, son of Carl Griffith, a drug dealer in the East Sides. And he was a member himself, but he didn't get involved very often.

"You should be." Felicity's voice was more stable now. "And not just because I am, but because everyone who knows anything is."

Daemon shook his head, not going to argue the point any further. If that guy came within ten feet of Felicity, he'd kick his a**. He realized a second later what a stupid, possessive thought that was. Why did he feel the need to protect this girl? He hardly knew her.

Felicity sighed, closed her eyes, then reopened them with a mischievous smile. "How about another drink?"

Daemon let his protective fury slip away and smiled at her. "I won't say no to that." The bartender poured them another shot and he downed it without a pause.

Felicity watched him for a fraction of a second before downing her shot as well. she glanced down the bar and saw Jade shoving her way through the crowd to get to her.

Daemon slid his glass across the counter for the bartender to fill again. "Another?" he asked, glancing over at Felicity.

Felicity shrugged. "Sure."

"Oh my go Fel, I saw him come over here, are you okay? What did he do?" Jade grasped Felicity's upper arm and stared at her expectantly.

Felicity shrugged again. "He didn't really do anything."

Daemon slid her next shot over to her and picked his up. "You want in?" he asked Jade.

Jade scoffed. "Hell yeah."

Felicity smiled. Then looked at Daemon. She couldn't believe he had stood up to Paul.

Daemon told the bartender to get them another shot. Once Jade had hers, he offered up another cheer.

The girls clinked shot glasses with him and tossed back their shots.
