Daemon slammed the glass down on the counter and grinned at Jade. "At least one of you knows how to have fun."

The smile dropped from Felicity's face and she scoffed and playfully punched Daemon's arm. Jade pursed her lips but smiled down at Felicity.

Daemon turned his grin to Felicity. "I think maybe she's learning, though." He pulled the shot glass from her fingers and curled his hand around hers. "Want to dance?"

Felicity felt a jolt at his touch but didn't let it show. "Sweep me away!" She giggled, standing.

Daemon winked at Jade before pulling Felicity off to the dance floor. She spun around to face her and put his hands on her hips, pulling her body flush against his.

Felicity gasped. She couldn't help it, the contact was so surprising. But not entirely unwelcome.

Daemon let out a deep chuckle. "I like you better like this," he said, his lips close to her ear so she could hear him over the music.

Felicity shivered a little, instinctively drawing closer. "Like what?"

Daemon paused, not sure how to answer that. "Less uptight?" he said.

Felicity nodded and continued moving with him. It was weird how easily they moved together. Like they had been built to do so.

Without really thinking about what he was doing, Daemon leaned his head down and rested his forehead against hers, a grin on his face. He realized he wanted to kiss her, but some last-minute return of sense stopped him from doing it.

Felicity closed her eyes when his forehead met his. It was a peaceful feeling, being linked to someone in so many places without really being together.

Daemon opened his eyes and leaned back a bit. "What changed?" he asked over the pulsing music.

Felicity shrugged. "I don't really know. I just wanted to stop hiding."

"I'm glad you changed your mind," Daemon said. She couldn't stand him a few days ago, and a few days ago all he wanted to do was get her into bed. Honestly, he still wanted to do that, but he had a feeling it would take a bit more than a few charming words to her, even if she was warming up to him. And for some reason he didn't want some one-night-stand that went a million miles an hour. He'd probably spoken more words to her than any girl he'd ever met, and while he'd rather see what it would be like to kiss her, he liked talking to her. Which was just bizarre.

"Me too." Felicity mumbled. "Do...Do you want to go somewhere quieter?" What was she thinking?

Surprise lit up Daemon's face, and this time it didn't go away. "What?" he said. If anyone else had asked that? No problem. Yes. The fact that she had asked just so completely caught him off guard that he was tongue-tied for the first time in his life.

Felicity looked away from his face. "I mean, to talk or something. We're never alone."

A slow smile spread on his face. "Sure," he said. "Any suggestions?"

Felicity shrugged as she looked up at him. She honestly just wanted to go back to her apartment but she didn't want to give Daemon the wrong idea. She didn't know how to do this anymore.
