Indigo had been dragged to this tournament as a representative of the Baratheon family, of course she had been given a private army of servants, soldiers and nobles but she didn't care much for those who merely groveled for her favor. As the bulky carriage came to a halt, she pushed aside the thin material that served as a curtain over the slit of a window and looked outside.
The forest was in full bloom, ferns, wildflowers in a rainbow of color, huge oaks, pine and ash trees standing erect like soldiers at attention in the harsh sunlight... The forest in summer was a virtual garden of eden, perhaps if she was a child again, it would be heaven, no worries about anything.
Indigo leans away from the window, allowing the curtain to drop again and dim the light filtering inside the carriage. Her ringlets fell over her face in a silken veil as she stares at her hands in her lap,"... Olin..." She mouthes his name, her heart aching to see him again- was he still alive? Oh, by the Seven what if he had been killed?? Her brown eyes tear at the thought but she shakes her head, forcing herself to look foreward to meeting the emissaries from the Targaryens... Even if they were on oppisite sides of this war she could still pry information about him from them, couldn't she?
The carriage door opens and a noble offers his hand to her, the princess smiles a beautiful mask of a smile and takes his somewhat damp hand. Stepping into the sunlight and shading her eyes. Beyond the trees she had admired were camps that surrounded a large meadow where a great arena had been set up for jousting and the other such sports- she knew one or several of the participants would be seeking her favor so she had to be tactful. Indigo was pulled from her thoughts as the noble leads her along, she nods faintly to those who bowed as she past, the long light creamy material of her dress quickly picking up dust and pollen yet she did not care- it was gorgeous and the smell of roasting honey and meat filled the air... Who would have thought a civil war was going on?
